Steel Structure Design: Installation Method for Pre-embedded Components of Steel Foundation

(1) Pre-fabricated components include base column embeds, decorative column embeds, ellipsoid support embeds, and wind-resistant column embeds. The variety and quantity of embeds are numerous, and they are primarily divided into two categories: anchor bolt embeds and anchor tie embeds. Fixed-type pre-fabricated embeds are mainly composed of anchor bolts and support plates, such as steel column base embeds. Fixed pre-fabricated embeds are mainly composed of fixed pre-stressed plates and support plates, such as decorative column embeds.

(2) To ensure the overall construction progress of the project, the embedding of steel structure prefabricated parts must be closely coordinated with the reinforcement of civil engineering. It is necessary to ensure that the embedding of the components is not affected by the reinforcement of civil engineering, while also ensuring that the concrete pouring time for civil engineering is not delayed.

(3) Construction Techniques

(1) Measurement settings and positioning of embedded parts (the measurement settings and axis positioning for this project are solely handled by civil engineering). Since the construction control axes for the steel structure in this project consist of circular lines, radial lines, as well as vertical and horizontal axes, it is necessary to use relative dimensions for the other positioning points of the axes relative to the circular lines, and to determine the plane position using the radial lines and the vertical and horizontal axes.

On the layout drawings of all embedded components, the dimensions of the center points or control points related to the embedded components are provided. During the measurement and layout of the embedded components, the measurement results of the measured control network are used to place points at the coordinates clearly marked on the structural drawing, and then the position of the embedded components is set based on the relative relationship between the embedded components and control points as shown on the structural drawing. For rigid column base embedded parts, the positioning and marking of the embedded parts should be done after the reinforcement bars are tied and corrected. In the specific operation, first retest the entire measurement control network of the science and technology museum, and after the measurement results are confirmed by the on-site engineer, begin to lay out the secondary measurement control network for the steel structure project.


For the embedded parts at the base of steel columns, measure and locate the center points of the embedded parts according to the layout plan, and mark the positions of the measurement points on-site. Then, based on the measurement points and the direction of the rigid column's alignment axis, use paint dots on the surface of the concrete protective layer to determine the vertical landing points of each anchor bolt. Ensure that the intersection of the lines connecting the four anchor bolts under the same rigid column overlaps with the center of each rigid column.

(2) Anchor bolts should be positioned after the rebar binding is completed.

During construction, the anchor bolts are arranged based on the positioning points and lines set on the concrete protective layer. Since each embedded component requires four anchor bolts, a steel plate shell mold can be made during the embedding process to ensure the relative positioning of the four bolts. Once the anchor bolt positions meet the requirements, reinforcement bars should be used for stabilization. The tops of the four anchor bolts are equipped with a pair of tension nuts. The number of bolts is adjusted by comparing and aligning the intersection point of the nuts with the positioning points on the bottom plate protective layer using a gravity plumb line. For anchor bolts that cannot directly rest on the protective layer, support should be provided beneath each group to ensure the top height of the anchor bolts.

When setting supports, fully utilize the support stools set during the reinforcement binding of the concrete slab. If it's not possible to use the support stools from the concrete reinforcement, support pads should be set below the anchor bolts or welded to the column reinforcing bars.
