Cement Concrete Pavement Surface Repair Procedure - Thin Layer Perfect Restoration
This procedure is designed for the repair of shallow concrete pavement defects: such as honeycomb, rough surface, scaling, sanding, freeze-thaw, exposed aggregate, and minor cracks.
I. Construction Process
Label → Clean → Scrub → Wet → Clean → Add Water → Stir → Lay → Maintain → Cut Seams
II. Construction Equipment:
High-pressure air gun, high-pressure water gun (or water truck with pump), vertical mixer or electric drill mixer, scraper, trowel, water storage barrel, clean water, plastic film.
Section 3: Construction Steps:
(1) Identification: Select the area to be repaired.
(2) Cleanup: Remove loose gravel and crumbling concrete within the repair area, and clean dust and debris with a high-pressure air gun.
(3) Cleaning: Thoroughly rinse the area requiring repair with a high-pressure water jet. During rinsing, ensure that mud is flushed out of the work area and prevent backflow.
(4) Moistening: After rinsing clean with water, the water should be retained on the work surface for a period, ensuring the surface is fully moistened until no more water seeps through.
(5) Cleaning: Use a high-pressure air gun to thoroughly clean any standing water within the operating surface. (Standing water can severely affect the adhesion, compressive strength, and aesthetic appearance of the material.)
(6) Add Water: Mix the material with water and stir, the amount of water to be added is specified on the factory's certificate of conformity.
(7) Mixing: Use a vertical mixer for stirring. Ensure thorough mixing without any dry powder clumps or bubbles. If dry powder clumps or bubbles persist, let it rest for a minute before stirring again. Aim for a mixing time of around 5 minutes, but avoid excessive time to prevent solidification in the mixing drum. Pay attention to the water-cement ratio; the mixed repair material must not bleed water!
(8) Application: Pour the mixed repair material onto the area to be repaired, and immediately smooth it out with a trowel (note: there should be no standing water in the area before repair). Ensure the finished floor level matches the original level. Keep the material in operation for 10-15 minutes (note: no secondary finishing after initial setting; no construction below 0℃), and use a large trowel for assistance in finishing.
Cut缝: Mark and cut缝 at the original expansion joint location.
Release: Allowance within 3 hours when the temperature is above 20°C. In cooler temperatures, the opening time can be extended appropriately. If conditions permit, extending the allowance time can also help improve material performance.
Four: Cautionary Notes:
1. The operation surface should be thoroughly cleaned with a high-pressure water jet, ensuring no floating dust.
2. The operating surface should be thoroughly moistened until no more water seeps through.
3. The surface to be patched must be thoroughly rinsed clean, moist but without standing water.
4. Thoroughly mix the repair material with a mixer, ensuring proper water-cement ratio. The mixed repair material must not segregate water.
Do not perform construction during rain or below freezing temperatures.
