The NORTEC 600 comes equipped with a clear and bright 5.7-inch VGA display, offering true full-screen mode and providing high visibility and excellent contrast of eddy current signals under most lighting conditions.
The redesigned interface of the NORTEC 600 instrument adopts the intuitive, knob-operated browsing method from the previous NORTEC products and combines it with the simple menu structure and efficient shortcut key methods used in other popular Olympus instruments. The NORTEC 600 instrument comes in 4 models, has a wide range of applications, and offers numerous innovative features, including application selection menus, multi-functional displays, real-time readings, and signal calibration under freeze mode, ensuring that operators of any level can quickly and easily complete the testing.

The NORTEC 600 instrument's housing has been field-verified to be extremely robust and durable, capable of normal operation in harsh outdoor environments. The NORTEC 600 instrument's housing boasts durability to withstand adverse weather conditions, ensuring users can successfully complete eddy current inspections.

Surface Inspection
The high performance and high-quality NORTEC 600 electronic devices, along with their distinctive bright display, provide unprecedented high-quality signals for surface inspection applications.
The NORTEC 600 instrument includes all standard features for medium to high-frequency surface detection, such as impedance map display, 10×10 grid, sweep (band chart), various alarm configurations, and automatic lift-off functions.
The new features of NORTEC 600, such as the balanced crosshair, fine (expanded) grid and raster grid, and automatic internal balancing line (when using BNC interface), make it a highly proficient tool for surface inspection applications.
Machine wheel inspection
The wheel inspection application effectively showcases the superior integrity of NORTEC 600's advanced electronic circuitry. Probes used for this application typically display low amplitude signals, necessitating the use of a preamplifier often. However, with its broad gain range (0–100 dB) and advanced electronics, the NORTEC 600 can transmit high-quality signals during the wheel inspection process, eliminating the need for a preamplifier.
Enhanced filter for bolt hole detection (models 600S and 600D)
The NORTEC 600 features simplified configuration and an enhanced filter system, making it an ideal instrument for bolt hole (rotary scanner) detection. The new NORTEC 600 filter is set by default to display a response signal resembling the number 6 (a typical signal shape for rotating bolt hole applications). Users can also set the filter to display a signal resembling the number 8, based on their specific needs. For easier configuration, operators can activate the new link option, which automatically adjusts the filter settings based on the scanner's speed.
Conductivity and coating thickness measurement (600C, 600S, and 600D)
The NORTEC 600's improved conductivity mode now features a simple and clear calibration guide, which includes user-defined conductivity and coating thickness reference information. The NORTEC 600 can measure the conductivity of non-magnetic materials as well as the thickness of non-conductive coatings on the materials, down to as thin as 0.64 mm.
Optimized Configuration for Weld Seam Inspection
The NORTEC 600 instrument features a compact, portable, and sturdy design, making it perfectly suitable for welding seam inspection in extreme harsh environments. When inspectors climb to high places using ropes to inspect seams, they can attach the chest strap to the instrument's four corner anchoring devices, hanging the instrument in front of their chest for seam inspection.
The NORTEC 600 features an immediate-use weld setup to simplify the instrument preparation and calibration process. Paint layer thickness assessment is also available in single or dual-frequency modes (only for NORTEC 600D model).
Traditional step scan probes support critical hole detection (600S and 600D)
NORTEC 600's inspection of critical holes is simple and reliable. Thanks to its support for traditional PS5 step-and-repeat scanners, improved waterfall display, and the new layer cursor, NORTEC 600 can conveniently and accurately locate defects within layered structures.

Innovative dual-frequency detection capabilities Multi-function display (600D)
The newly added multi-channel display can show up to three configurable tracks for Frequency 1, Frequency 2, and Mixed Channels. Each channel can be displayed as an impedance graph or a strip chart, with independent control over each display position.
Automatic Mixing (600D)
NThe ORTEC 600's newly added automatic mixing feature can immediately combine signals together, thereby minimizing the remaining (subtracted) signals. This feature is particularly suitable for inspecting heat exchanger pipe fittings.
Real-time reading
With the real-time reading parameters, users can select up to two signals for real-time display on the screen in the instrument's standard or full-screen mode. The various measurement values displayed on the screen indicate the different amplitude of the signals at various phase angles.
