Vertical incidence shear wave probe
Single crystal vertical incidence shear wave contact probe can directly transmit shear waves into the workpiece being measured without the need for refraction mode conversion of ultrasonic waves.
We recommend using our SWC shear wave couplant for general-purpose testing.
Advantages and Features:
Generate transverse waves that propagate perpendicular to the surface being measured.
For ease of alignment, the transverse wave polarization is nominally aligned with the right-angle connector.
The ratio of longitudinal to transverse wave components is generally less than -30 dB.
