OmniScan SX
OlympusProudly introducing the newly developed OmniScan® SX to our wide user base, a flaw detector that embodies the essence of OmniScan with over 20 years of experience in phased array technology. For enhanced ease of use, the OmniScan SX features a newly simplified software interface on its 8.4-inch touchscreen. The OmniScan SX is a single-unit, non-modular instrument, making it extremely user-friendly and cost-effective for applications with lower detection requirements.
OmniScan SXThere are two models: SX PA and SX UT. The SX PA is a 16:64PR phased array unit, similar to the SX UT, which also features a standard UT channel for pulse echo, single-element transmission and reception, or TOFD inspections. Compared to the OmniScan MX2, the OmniScan SX is 33% lighter and 50% smaller, offering a more portable and compact performance than any previous OmniScan product.
OmniScan SXThe touchscreen comes with full-screen mode options, achieving unparalleled clarity. Users simply need to perform simple operations on the touchscreen to access numerous menu functions. The intuitive interface allows for smooth menu selection, zooming, gate adjustments, cursor movement, and input of text and numbers. These features, combined with other integrated functionalities, including an easy-to-understand setup and calibration wizard, rapid S-scan and A-scan refresh rates, and fast pulse repetition frequency (PRF), make the OmniScan SX an efficient detection tool.
OmniScan SXFully compatible with Olympus' extensive range of scanners, probes, and accessories, as well as their specialized software, NDT SetupBuilder and OmniPC. The complete integration of hardware and software products streamlines and enhances the detection process from design and setup to collection and analysis.

To achieve continuous improvement, the software interface has been simplified and response times optimized, thereby allowing customers to experience the testing operation process as smoothly as possible.
To simplify the operational process and facilitate the learning of operation knowledge for new OmniScan users, we have introduced a single operational mode in our instrument, allowing operators to access every item in the interface at any time. Therefore, now we can combine all three operational environments into one:

l SXOr MX2, with a mouse
l OmniPC
To enhance the user's experience with efficient operation, the software now includes a title bar, allowing immediate access to key display options. Furthermore, the most frequently used features can now be accessed and utilized through an interactive full-screen menu, simply by tapping with your fingers, offering the convenience of a tablet-style interface.
OmniScan SXThe launch introduces a new "app" wizard for users. This convenient software feature enables quick setup creation for the most common applications, allowing users to fully experience the ease and comfort of the setup process.

Phased Array Weld Seam Inspection
OmniScan PAThe core of the manual and semi-automatic phased array weld inspection solutions developed by Olympus for the oil and gas industry. These systems are not only suitable for inspections that comply with ASME, API, and other standard specifications but also feature high-speed detection and ease of defect indication reading.
Corrosion Imaging and Composite Material Testing
With the introduction of OmniScan SX, zero-degree scanning has become more straightforward. Olympus offers field-proven solutions for detecting anomalies or wall thickness loss in corrosion or composite material applications.
TOFDWeld seam inspection
In the primary application of detecting weld seam defects, TOFD is a simple and highly efficient inspection method. This technique not only quickly quantifies defects found within the weld volume – where welds often experience high rates of manufacturing defects – but also offers an excellent cost-performance ratio.
Component Inspection
Component inspection utilizes ultrasonic technology to detect cracks, wall thinning, and other various defects. The OmniScan SX can utilize both angular beam and linear zero-degree beam, making it an extremely cost-effective solution for such single-component inspection applications.
