On the 11th, the construction materials market showed a slight downward trend. The average price of rebar in major cities was 4758 yuan/ton, unchanged from the previous trading day. The futures for rebar fluctuated and rose, with the closing price of the main contract at 4589 yuan/ton, up 90 yuan/ton from the settlement price of the previous trading day, and 161 yuan/ton below the market price of Hangzhou Zhongtian rebar at 4750 yuan/ton. The night session saw the futures for rebar fluctuating and falling, and in the early morning trading, the price of construction materials in East China remained slightly stable. As the Spring Festival holiday approaches, terminal demand is gradually winding down, and recent transactions have consistently performed poorly. Some merchants, in a bid to sell stock, have increased the frequency of secret price cuts and concessions, with a 20 yuan/ton drop in the Hangzhou market during the trading day. Although the futures market rose in the afternoon, it did not lead to a rebound in the spot market prices. The winter storage policies of surrounding steel mills have not been fully released, and merchants are aiming to lower the spot prices to obtain lower winter storage resources. It is expected that the market prices for construction materials will continue to show a slight downward trend tomorrow.
