
Diesel generators must be checked and started according to the correct procedure, especially for diesel generator sets, which require more checks. Moreover, the start-up time for diesel generator sets is not long, but there is a difference in start-up time between domestic and imported diesel generators. Let's take a look: the start-up time from ignition to stable power generation is about 5-15 seconds for imported sets and 15-30 seconds for domestic sets. Diesel engines consume more fuel and have more wear on parts at low water temperatures. After starting, the load should be gradually increased, and normal load can only be applied when the water temperature is normal. If automatic loading cannot control the load, wait until the water temperature is basically normal (above 70 degrees Celsius) before "taking the load." Solutions for Diesel Generator Set Start-up Issues: 1. Check the oil level in the oil pan of the diesel engine to investigate if the oil viscosity is too low or if there is too much oil, causing it to evaporate into vapor and escape from the exhaust pipe without burning. However, upon inspection, the quality and quantity of the oil meet the engine's oiling specifications. 2. Loosen the pressure relief screw of the high-pressure oil pump, press the hand oil pump to remove air from the oil line. 3. Tighten the return screws for the high and low-pressure oil lines of the diesel engine. 4. After starting the diesel generator, increase the speed to about 1000 rpm and check if the speed is stable. However, if the sound of the diesel engine is still unstable, the problem has not been resolved. 5. Conduct an oil-cutting test on each of the four high-pressure oil lines on the top of the high-pressure oil pump, and upon doing so, the blue smoke phenomenon disappeared after the third cylinder was disconnected. After shutting down, remove the third cylinder injector and perform an injection pressure test on the injector. The result showed that the third cylinder injector component had a dripping phenomenon with very little quantity. 6. Draw out a thin copper wire with a diameter close to the nozzle diameter from a thin wire, and clear the nozzle. After clearing, the spray performance of the nozzle component was normal, then install the injector, start the diesel engine, and the blue smoke phenomenon disappeared, but the engine speed was still unstable. 7. Remove the high-pressure oil pump assembly and perform a technical inspection of the governor. It was found that the adjustment lever was not sensitive. After repair, adjustment, and installation, start the diesel engine to reach about 700 rpm and check if the engine operation is stable.
