Overview

The fully automatic softener is a new method of soft water treatment system developed in accordance with industry standards and combining extensive successful engineering experience. It is a green and economic solution that adheres to the terminal user's requirements for design, integrating raw water pretreatment, water quality monitoring and allocation systems, and selecting compatible equipment to form an automatic sodium ion exchange soft water system. It addresses numerous issues such as high operating costs, frequent equipment failures, substandard water quality output, and mismatches between water quality and user needs that were previously caused by the sole use of softeners. It has gained widespread recognition from users across various regions and is the preferred choice of customers.

Our company introduces advanced control devices from the U.S. FLECK and AUTOTROL companies, assembling them into fully automatic ion exchange soft water equipment domestically. By integrating China's specific conditions with cutting-edge domestic and international manufacturing processes and technologies, the resin tanks are made of glass fiber, stainless steel, and carbon steel lined with plastic materials for corrosion resistance. The system is widely used in industrial or civil systems such as boilers and air conditioning refrigeration systems in the petrochemical, light industry, textile, food hygiene, hotels, and restaurants.


Operating Principle and Purpose:

The hydraulic control valve utilizes the kinetic energy of the water flow to drive two groups of turbines, which in turn power two sets of gears to rotate the water meter disk and the control disk. The water meter disk accumulates the flow passing through, while the control disk introduces the original water pressure signal through a series of apertures into a set of valve chambers. As it rotates, it automatically opens or closes the pressure apertures according to a set pattern, thereby achieving the automatic switching of a set of valves integrated into one unit.

The water softener consists of two resin tanks (primary and secondary), a hydraulic control valve, and a salt tank. The control valve manages the switching of the water path between the primary and secondary tanks, ensuring that one tank is always in operation while the other is in regeneration or standby mode. The regeneration salt solution is drawn in by vacuum through a Venturi jet installed inside the valve, and the regeneration and cleaning water come from the softened water output of the other tank. Different water hardness levels require different models of water meters to achieve the corresponding operational and regeneration cycles.

The hardness of water is primarily composed of cations: calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions. When hard water passes through the resin layer of the exchange unit, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water are adsorbed by the resin, while sodium ions are released. This results in the softened water exiting the exchange unit, which is free of hardness ions. Once the resin reaches a certain saturation point with calcium and magnesium ions, the water hardness increases. At this stage, the water softener will automatically initiate a regeneration process for the exhausted resin, using a high-concentration sodium chloride solution (saltwater) to pass through the resin, thereby restoring the exhausted resin to its sodium form.

Inlet water requirements:

Residual chlorine < 0.1 ppm; Turbidity < 2 Fe(OH)3 ppm

Mn < 0.3ppm Total Salt Content < 500ppm


Construction and Installation Key Points:

1) The pipeline should be equipped with supporting structures to prevent the control valve from being subjected to force.

2) When the inlet pipe of a water softener is connected to the domestic water supply pipeline, a backflow preventer must be installed on the inlet pipe.

3) If the inlet water pressure is below 0.15 MPa, pressure boosting measures must be implemented.

4) The drain pipe length should be less than 6 meters; no valves should be installed on the pipe; the outlet should not be higher than the valve body, and the end should be open to prevent siphonage.

5) In addition to the softener using a hydraulic-driven multi-way valve, a 220V power supply is required on-site.

6) No iodized salt should be used; calcium salt should be used as the regenerating agent.
