The primary function of stainless steel chimneys is to vent fire and smoke, expelling fumes to improve combustion conditions. In high-rise buildings, there are usually varying numbers of stairwells, ventilation ducts, air supply ducts, smoke exhaust ducts, elevator shafts, and pipeline shafts, among other vertical shafts. When the indoor temperature is higher than the outdoor temperature, the less dense warm air rises naturally through these vertical passages. It leaks out through gaps in doors and windows and various holes. Cold air from outside, being denser, infiltrates from the lower levels to replenish it, thus creating the chimney effect.
