Mechanical winding fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pipes are a lightweight, corrosion-resistant non-metallic pipeline. They are made by a special process using resin as the matrix and glass fibers as the reinforcing material. These pipes offer advantages such as corrosion resistance, leakage prevention, thermal insulation, and are lightweight, durable, highly customizable, have low fluid resistance, are easy to install, and are cost-effective. They are widely used in industries such as oil, chemicals, power, papermaking, urban water supply and drainage, factory wastewater treatment, gas transmission, and mining. They are ideal for transporting liquids and gases. In recent years, the production of FRP pipes in China has developed rapidly, with the quantity increasing year by year and their application scope and departments expanding.

Four, Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) Sand Lined Pipes - The fiber-wound GFRP sand lined pipes offer reliability and are primarily used for buried pipelines and long-distance transmission lines. They feature lightweight, corrosion-resistant, long service life, and low operation and maintenance costs, which can save a significant amount of funds for construction projects.

5. Features 1. Lightweight: The specific gravity of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) sand lined pipes is 1.65~2.0. For pipes of the same diameter, the weight per unit length is only 1/3 of carbon steel, 1/5 of FRP pipes compared to cast iron, and 1/10 of prestressed concrete pipes, reducing hoisting costs and increasing installation speed during construction. 2. Excellent hydraulic properties: This feature is particularly prominent in water supply and drainage applications, with good hydraulic characteristics. (1) Saves pumping costs for the pipeline network. (2) Reduces pipe diameter size. (3) Shortens pumping time. (4) FRP pipes do not scale over time, eliminating the need for cleaning and preventing secondary water contamination. 3. Good resistance to water and corrosion: GFRP sand lined pipes have excellent corrosion resistance, reducing anti-corrosion costs and extending service life; they also prevent secondary water contamination due to their non-rusting nature. They can be used for conveying wastewater, sludge, seawater, and other media. 4. Pressure resistance: Designed and manufactured pipes and fittings according to process requirements, with hydrostatic tests conducted at 1.5 times the process pressure. 5. Good interface sealing: No leakage, no cracking, enhancing the reliability of water supply.

Section 7: Main Forming Process The inner lining is manufactured on mandrels by computer control, following the same process as the glass fiber-reinforced steel pipes, and is gel-coated. The structural layer is then wrapped according to the designed line and thickness. Mortar mixed with quartz sand and resin is wrapped within the structural layer, and an outer protective layer is wrapped around it.

Good Abrasion Resistance - GRP sand coated pipes have excellent wear resistance. Tests show that when water slurry containing a large amount of silt and stones is placed in pipes of different materials and rotated for 10,000 cycles, the GRP pipe performs well. 3. Heat Resistance, Freeze-Resistant, and Strong Temperature Adaptability - GRP sand coated pipes can operate normally at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 80°C. Pipes with special resin ratios can work at temperatures as high as 110°C without cracking under frozen media. 4. Low Fluid Friction - The inner surface of GRP sand coated pipes is smooth, with low resistance and a roughness coefficient of 0.0084. The friction coefficient is about half that of steel pipes and one-fourth that of concrete pipes, resulting in low fluid head loss. It can ensure the transportation of large flow rates through smaller diameters. Generally, sand coated pipes are one grade lower in diameter selection than cast iron or concrete pipes. If pipes with the same inner diameter are used, the pump power and energy can be saved by about one-third. 5. High Mechanical Strength - GRP sand coated pipes have excellent pressure resistance, external pressure resistance, and impact resistance, meeting the requirements for burial under different geological conditions. Pipes and fittings can be designed and manufactured according to customer-specified pressure requirements. 6. Lightweight and Easy to Install - GRP sand coated pipes are lightweight, weighing only 1/4 of steel pipes and 1/10 of concrete pipes. They are easy to handle and install, with installation costs being low. The length of sand coated pipes can reach 12 meters, reducing the number of joints and the need for complex welding.
