    Advantages of tubular reactors

    2025-09-24

The advantage of the tubular reactor is its ability to achieve excellent mixing of different liquids entering the intensively heat transfer mixed reactor. Unlike the internal components of conventional static mixers, which are made from plates, the internal components of the tubular reactor are constructed from finer tubes. These tubes can accommodate both heating and cooling media, allowing the internal units not only to ensure thorough mixing but also to provide a significant heat transfer surface area.

The advantages of the tubular reactor lie in its specialized application for enhanced heat transfer processes in high-viscosity media. The JHF-Ⅰ enhanced heat transfer mixed reactor does not require combination with other accessories and connects directly to the pipeline. For high-viscosity media with a viscosity range of 3,000 to 450,000 centipoise, its heat transfer coefficient can reach 100 to 400 W/m²°C, which is 4 to 5 times higher compared to a typical tube bundle heat exchanger.

The advantages of tubular reactors include the ability to use the JHF-Ⅱ enhanced heat transfer and mixing reactor for highly exothermic liquid/liquid reaction processes. The JHF-Ⅱ reactor is horizontally installed and equipped with an SV type...

Static mixers, as accessories, are essential to ensure uniform mixing of immiscible liquid/liquid phases. For liquid/liquid reaction processes that require longer dwell times, the length of the static mixers is also longer. At this point, the length of each static mixer varies.

The reactors can be interconnected with 180° elbows, forming a unit reactor.

The advantages of the tubular reactor are that it can utilize the JHF-III type enhanced heat transfer mixed reactor for gas/liquid reactions with strong exothermic heat release. The JHF-III type enhanced heat transfer mixed reactor is vertically installed, generally speaking.

Below, the gas and liquid phases flow upwards in parallel within the reactor, equipped with a specially designed gas distributor at the bottom. In special circumstances, the gas and liquid phases within the reactor can also flow downwards in parallel.

The top of the vessel is equipped with a specially designed liquid distributor.

The tube reactor's advantages include the ability to effectively mix various fluids entering it, while also enhancing the heat transfer process for high-viscosity media, making it particularly suitable as a polymerization reactor. JHF-Ⅳ Type

Uniform temperature distribution across the same cross-section is beneficial, not only for enhancing the quality of polymer products but also for improving the conversion rate of the polymerization reaction. From monomers to complete polymerization, the reaction

Material viscosity undergoes a process of increasing from low to high, with higher polymerization degree resulting in greater viscosity. It can be used in conjunction with SV-type static mixers, as well as with agitated polymerization reactors.
