Emergency Response Procedures for Vacuum Furnace Malfunctions

    2024-11-19

Emergency situations may occur during the operation of a vacuum furnace. Operators should remain calm and take appropriate emergency measures to prevent major accidents.

How to respond to emergencies in a vacuum furnace?

One, sudden power outage in the heating chamber

    1. Immediately shut off the main power to the equipment.

    2. Close the vacuum valves on all pipelines to prevent air from entering the vacuum furnace.

The heating chamber is filled with high-purity nitrogen to 6.6*10^-4 to cool the furnace as quickly as possible. Note to vent air into the cooling chamber simultaneously to press down the hot valve.

In the event of a water shutdown while using recirculating water for cooling, alternative water supply (municipal water or elevated water tank) should be activated.

During the heating process in the heating chamber, a sudden water outage occurred.

Immediately disconnect the heating power supply.

    2. Activate backup water supply.

    3. Transfer the workpiece from the heating chamber to the cooling chamber, fill with nitrogen gas to cool the workpiece rapidly.

The heating chamber is filled with high-purity nitrogen, causing it to rapidly cool below 150°C.

During the heating chamber heating, some areas suddenly started to leak gas.

Immediately seal the leaky area with vacuum sealant.

    2. Immediately disconnect the heating power supply.

    3. The heating chamber is immediately filled with high-purity nitrogen, bringing the internal pressure close to one atmosphere to minimize air infiltration.

    Operation during water shutdown

In the event of a brief water outage or low water pressure, the system will emit an audible and visual alarm, but this will not interfere with operation, allowing it to continue functioning as normal.

    2. If there is a water outage or low water pressure, and it is estimated to last for more than 20 minutes, heating should be immediately halted. Reheat only when the water pressure returns to normal, and adjust the process curve appropriately based on the current temperature of the heating chamber.

    Operation During Power Outages

Immediately shut down all pneumatic valves during a power outage. When encountering "feeding" or "unloading" processes during a power cut, the specific procedures are as follows:

When encountering the "material feeding" process, switch from "automatic" to "manual" mode. After receiving the call, use the manual operation key to complete the "material feeding process," and then switch back to "automatic" mode to continue working as per the normal procedure.

    2. Upon encountering the "material retrieval" process, the material should be immediately removed manually, and the gate valve should be securely closed by hand. After power is restored, resume operations. "Manually" refers to manually turning the lower end of the DC motor's tail with hands or tools to initiate the mechanism's movement.
