The Importance of Compaction for Permeable Pavements

During the casting process, it is not advisable to use excessive vibration or compaction. Generally, a flat vibrator is used to gently vibrate and level the permeable concrete mixture after laying, but care must be taken not to use a high-frequency vibrator. Otherwise, it will make the concrete too dense, reducing the porosity and affecting the permeability. Additionally, high-frequency vibration will cause the cement paste to separate from the surface of the coarse aggregates, settle at the bottom to form an impermeable layer, and thus lose its permeability.
