Steel Grating Plates

Also known as steel grating or grating plate, it is a type of steel product made by crossing flat steel bars at certain intervals with crossbars, then welded together to form a square grid pattern in the middle. It is primarily used for drain covers, steel structure platform panels, and step plates for steel ladders. The crossbars are typically made of twisted square steel.

Manufacturing Process of Steel Grating Plates: Steel grating plates are made by arranging load-bearing flat steel and crossbars at specific intervals, then welded into a solid panel using a 200-ton hydraulic resistance welding automation system. The panels are then processed through cutting, punching, and edging to meet customer requirements. Spacing of Load-Bearing Flat Steel: The spacing between adjacent load-bearing flat steels is commonly 30, 40, 50, and other sizes. Crossbar Spacing: The distance between adjacent crossbars is typically 50, 76, 80, 100, and other options, which can be produced according to customer specifications and customized in various steel grating plate models based on customer needs.

Heavy-duty steel grating

1. Heavy-duty steel grating introduction:

Heavy-duty steel grating refers to the type with bearing steel width over 65mm and thickness over 6mm, with cross bars typically made of flat steel or steel rebar with diameters of 10mm or 12mm.

2. Heavy-duty steel grating applications:

Heavy-duty steel grating is designed and manufactured for heavy load applications, suitable for airports, highways, industrial platforms, port terminals, and other special requirement scenarios.

3. Heavy-duty Steel Grating Categories:

4. Heavy-duty steel grating can be divided into two types according to the production process: heavy-duty welded steel grating and heavy-duty riveted steel grating.

A. Heavy-duty pressure-welded steel grating refers to a type of grating where the transverse bars are made of rebars, suitable for single-direction loading applications.

B. Heavy-duty pressed steel grating refers to grating with flat steel bars, suitable for bidirectional loading applications. However, it is significantly more expensive than welded steel grating, and is generally not recommended for use.

C. Surface shapes can be divided into flat heavy-duty steel grating and toothed heavy-duty steel grating.

Due to cost considerations, we recommend using flat steel grating in general situations, and heavy-duty toothed steel grating for anti-slip applications such as offshore drilling platforms.

Composite steel grating

This product is composed of steel grating with certain cross-bearing capacity and patterned board with a sealed surface. After hot-dip galvanizing treatment, composite steel grating may undergo warping and deformation due to heat, especially with larger sizes, which can be challenging to flatten. Please pay attention to the selection. The composite steel grating commonly uses Series 3 steel grating as the base, but Series 1 or Series 2 steel gratings can also be used. Patterned steel gratings typically use 3mm thick plates, but 4mm, 5mm, or 6mm plates can also be used. By welding steel mesh to the front or bottom surface of the composite steel grating, a double-layered board is formed, which can prevent small items from falling out. The use of this double-layered board in grain silos, dining halls, and warehouses can prevent small animals like rats from entering.

Composite Steel Grating Installation Method: Directly weld the steel grating or tread plate to the supporting steel structure, and apply two coats of zinc-rich paint to the welding joints. Use steel grating installation clamps to avoid damaging the galvanized layer, making it easy to disassemble. Each set includes one top clamp, one bottom clamp, one M8 round head bolt, and one nut. Stainless steel installation clamps or bolt-connection methods can be provided upon request. The installation gap for steel grating is generally 100mm. Ensure the installation is secure and reliable during assembly, and check regularly to prevent clamp loosening or detachment. It's best to weld or add rubber pads to the steel grating near vibration.

Platform steel grating

Platform steel grating is a versatile steel grating panel product with a wide range of applications. It is primarily used for platforms in factories, workshops, mines, and ports, offering an elegant and impressive appearance, easy installation, and is a new type of building product that replaces outdated ones.

Platform specialty steel grating products include:

1. Kick plates (edging plates), patterned steel plate guards, and installation accessories such as connectors can be added around the steel grating.

2. Utilize flanges of different specifications from the flat steel on the steel grid, or use angle steel, channel steel, square tubes, etc., for edging.

3. Handles and hinges can be installed on the platform steel grating panels for frequent movement or opening.

4. Generally speaking: The welding standard for the edge of the platform steel grating panels is as follows: Series 1 - weld one out of every five; Series 2 - weld one out of every four; Series 3 - weld one out of every three. The weld is a single-sided angle weld of not less than 3mm, with a length of 20mm.

Stainless Steel Grating

Also known as stainless steel grating panels. There are typically two methods of manufacturing: combining and welding stainless steel flat bars and round bars; or interlocking stainless steel flat bars. They possess strong corrosion resistance, a neat appearance, and an ideal decorative effect, though they generally come at a higher price.

Stainless Steel Grating Categories:

It is available in flat, toothed, and I-shaped designs, with over 200 specifications and varieties (the surface can be protected differently depending on the application environment).

Material: Typically, stainless steel grades 304, 316, 316L are used.

Manufacturing Method:

There are two types: machine press welding and handcrafted. Machine press welding utilizes a high-voltage resistance welding machine, with a robotic arm automatically placing the crossbar across evenly spaced flat steel bars, and then welding it into place using powerful welding power and hydraulic pressure to achieve a high-quality steel grating with strong weld points, excellent stability, and high strength. Handcrafted steel gratings are first pierced on the flat steel, then the crossbars are inserted and spot-welded into the holes. There will be gaps between the crossbars and flat steel, but each contact point is焊接, achieving an equivalent melting connection between the flat steel and twisted steel, thus making the welding more solid and the strength slightly improved. However, the appearance is not as aesthetically pleasing as press welding.

Surface Treatment:

After pickling and passivation, the surface is matte grayish white.

b. Electrochemical polishing results in a brighter surface with higher luster.

c. The finished products are heat treated and polished, followed by electrochemical polishing, and then chrome plated to achieve a mirror-like finish.

Advantages:

Lightweight, high-strength, high load-bearing capacity, cost-effective, well-ventilated and light-transmitting, modern style, attractive appearance, anti-slip, easy to clean, and simple to install.

Usage:

Stainless steel grating is extensively used in power plants, chemical factories, oil refineries, steel mills, machinery manufacturing plants, shipyards, paper mills, cement plants, food processing plants, and bridge projects, municipal engineering projects, and wastewater treatment facilities, where corrosion resistance is a high requirement. The selection of stainless steel grating is similar to that of carbon steel grating. Due to its unique properties, stainless steel grating is widely used in various factories both domestically and internationally.

Stainless Steel Grating Covers

Stainless steel trench grates, also known as stair tread plates, steel stair tread plates, or step plates, are a type of stair tread used for platforms. They can be installed using either welding or bolted connections, with the welded steps directly attached to the stair beams.

Overview

Welded fixed tread plates, directly welded to the ladder beam; no need for side plates on the sides of the tread plates, more economical in cost but not easily removable. Tread plates secured with bolts require thicker side plates, with holes pre-drilled on the side plates for direct bolt installation, allowing for reuse and recycling. Customers can customize according to their actual needs, using suitable steel grating plates to fabricate various sizes to match the corresponding staircase.

Features & Applications

(1) The installation of the step board is extremely simple and does not require complex assembly.

(2) Excellent ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, explosion-proof, and anti-slip properties.

(3) High strength, lightweight construction, and durability of the step board.

(4) Easy maintenance and anti-caking.

Tread plates are widely used in platforms and walkways of power plants, waterworks, and other factories, as well as in municipal engineering and environmental protection projects. They are also extensively applied in large-scale areas such as theaters, visitor platforms, and parking lots.

Grating panels

The grating is made by crossing flat steel bars at specific intervals with crossbars, then welded into a steel product featuring square openings in the middle. It is primarily used for drain covers, steel structure platform panels, and stair treads. The crossbars are typically made of twisted square steel.

Grating panels are generally made of Q235 low-carbon steel, with a hot-dipped galvanized finish for oxidation prevention. Stainless steel can also be used for manufacturing. Steel grating offers ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, anti-slip, and explosion-proof properties.

Manufacturing Methods of Grating Plates: There are two methods, machine press welding and handcrafted. Machine press welding utilizes a high-pressure resistance welding machine, where a robotic arm automatically places the crossbars across evenly spaced flat steel bars. The strong welding power and hydraulic pressure then weld the crossbars into the flat steel, resulting in high-quality grating plates with strong weld points, excellent stability, and enhanced strength. Handcrafted grating plates are first pierced with holes in the flat steel, and then the crossbars are inserted into the holes and spot-welded. There will be gaps between the crossbars and the flat steel, and it is impossible to weld every contact point, thus the welding is not as secure, and the strength is somewhat reduced.

Grille plate features:

1. High strength, lightweight structure: The sturdy grid pressure welding structure provides high load-bearing capacity while remaining lightweight.

2. Features such as easy hoisting;

3. Aesthetically pleasing and durable: Hot-dip galvanized surface treatment provides excellent corrosion resistance.

4. Surface luster is aesthetically pleasing.

5. Good ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, explosion-proof, and anti-slip properties; prevents accumulation of dirt.

Grating panels are widely used in various industries such as petrochemicals, municipal engineering, port engineering, machinery industry, power plants and waterworks, iron and steel industry, manufacturing, and food processing.

Connector steel grating

Connector Steel Grating: Also known as interlocking steel grating, it is manufactured through processes such as slotting (piercing), interlocking, welding, and finishing, using plain carbon flat steel, stainless steel, brass plate, and aluminum plate of specific sizes. The connector steel grating combines the high strength, corrosion resistance, and maintenance-free features of ordinary steel grating, with a uniform structure that is light, elegant, harmonious, and tastefully designed. This product is widely used for channel covers, stair treads, and pond covers.
