3. Heavy-duty steel grating classification:
4. Heavy-duty steel grating can be divided into two types according to the production process: heavy-duty welded steel grating and heavy-duty riveted steel grating.
A. Heavy-duty steel grating is a type of steel grating with crossbars made of reinforced steel, suitable for applications with unidirectional loading.
B. Heavy-duty pressed steel grating refers to grating with flat steel crossbars, suitable for bidirectional loading. However, it is significantly more expensive than welded steel grating, and is generally not recommended for use.
C. Surface shapes can be categorized into flat heavy-duty steel grating and ribbed heavy-duty steel grating.
Due to cost considerations, we recommend using flat steel grating in most cases, and heavy-duty toothed steel grating for anti-slip applications such as offshore drilling platforms.
Composite steel grating
This product is composed of steel grating panels with certain cross-bearing capacity and patterned boards with sealed surfaces. After hot-dip galvanizing, composite steel grating panels may undergo warping and deformation due to heat, especially for larger-sized panels, which can be difficult to flatten. Please pay attention to the selection of sizes. The common series for the bottom board of composite steel grating panels is Series 3, but Series 1 or Series 2 can also be used; patterned steel grating panels usually use 3mm thick plates, but 4mm, 5mm, or 6mm plates can also be chosen. The front or back surface of the composite steel grating can be bonded with steel mesh to create a reinforced mesh panel, which can prevent small items from falling out. Using reinforced mesh panels in grain silos, restaurants, and warehouses can prevent small animals like rats from entering.
Composite Steel Grating Installation Method: Directly weld the steel grating or tread plate to the supporting steel structure, and apply two coats of zinc-rich paint at the welds. Use steel grating installation clamps for assembly without damaging the galvanized layer, and easy to disassemble. Each set of installation clamps includes one upper clamp, one lower clamp, one M8 round head bolt, and one nut. Stainless steel installation clamps or bolt connection methods can be provided upon request. The general spacing for steel grating installation is 100mm. Ensure the installation is firm and reliable during assembly, and regularly inspect to prevent clamps from loosening or falling off. For steel grating near vibration, it is recommended to weld or add rubber pads.
Platform Steel Grating
Platform steel grating is a widely applicable steel grating panel product, primarily used in various platforms across factories, workshops, mining, and ports. It boasts an elegant and imposing appearance, easy installation, and is a new generation building product that replaces older ones.
Platform specialty steel grating products include:
1. Kick plates (edge guards), patterned steel plate guards, and mounting accessories can be added around the steel grating.
2. Utilize flat steel strips with different specifications for the edge wrapping of steel grating panels, or use angle steel, channel steel, square tubes, etc., for edging.
3. Handles and hinges can be installed on the steel grating panels of platforms that require frequent movement or opening.
4. Generally speaking: The welding standard for the edge of platform steel grating panels is as follows: Series 1, weld one out of every five; Series 2, weld one out of every four; Series 3, weld one out of every three. The weld is a single-sided angle weld of not less than 3mm, with a length of 20mm.
Stainless Steel Grating
Also known as stainless steel grating panels. There are typically two methods of production: a combination of stainless steel flat bars and round bars welded together; and interlocking stainless steel flat bars. They offer excellent corrosion resistance, a clean appearance, and a highly desirable decorative effect, although they are generally more expensive.
Stainless Steel Grating Categories:
It is available in flat, toothed, and I-shaped designs, with over 200 specifications and varieties. (The surface can be protected differently according to different usage environments.)
Material: Generally, stainless steel grades 304, 316, 316L are used.
Manufacturing Method:
There are two types: machine pressed welding and handcrafted. Machine pressed welding uses a high-pressure resistance welding machine, where a robotic arm automatically places the crossbar horizontally on uniformly arranged flat steel bars. It then welds the crossbar into the flat steel using strong electric welding power and hydraulic pressure, resulting in high-quality steel grating with strong weld points, excellent stability, and high strength. Handcrafted steel gratings are first pierced with holes in the flat steel, then the crossbars are inserted into the holes and spot-welded. There is a gap between the crossbar and flat steel, but every contact point is welded, achieving equivalent melting connection with the flat steel and twisted steel, making the welding more solid and the strength slightly increased, although the appearance is not as aesthetically pleasing as pressed welding.
Surface Treatment:
After pickling and passivation, the surface appears as a matte grayish white.
b. Electrochemical polishing results in a brighter surface with higher luster.
c. After heat treatment and polishing, the product undergoes electrochemical polishing, followed by chrome plating to achieve a mirror-like finish.
Advantages:
Lightweight, high strength, high load-bearing capacity, cost-effective, well-ventilated and light-transmitting, modern style, aesthetically pleasing, anti-slip, easy to clean, and simple to install.
Usage:
Stainless steel grating is widely used in power plants, chemical factories, refineries, steel mills, machinery manufacturing plants, shipyards, paper mills, cement plants, food processing facilities, and bridge construction, municipal engineering projects, and wastewater treatment facilities where corrosion resistance is a high requirement. The selection of stainless steel grating is similar to that of carbon steel grating. Due to its unique properties, stainless steel grating is extensively applied in various factories both domestically and internationally.
Stainless Steel Grating Cover Plates
Stainless steel trench grates, also known as stair tread plates, steel stair tread plates, and step plates, are a type of stair tread used on platforms. They come in two installation types: welded connections and bolted connections. Welded step plates can be directly welded to the stair beam.
Overview
Welded fixed tread plates, directly welded to the ladder beam; no side plates for the tread plates are required, making it relatively economical. However, they are not easily removable. Tread plates secured with bolts require thicker side plates, with holes pre-drilled for easy installation and reuse. Customers can customize according to their specific needs, using suitable steel grating materials to fabricate various sizes to match the corresponding staircase.
Features and Applications
(1) The installation of the tread board is extremely easy, no complicated assembly required.
(2) Excellent ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, explosion-proof, and anti-slip properties.
(3) High strength, lightweight structure, and durable tread plate.
(4) Easy maintenance and anti-dirty accumulation.
Tread plates have a wide range of applications, used in power plants, water treatment plants, and factories, as well as in platforms and walkways of municipal projects, environmental protection projects, and in large venues such as theaters, visitor platforms, and parking lots.
Grating panels
The grating is a type of steel product made by crossing flat steel bars at certain intervals with crossbars, welded together to form a square grid pattern in the middle. It is primarily used for drain covers, steel structure platform panels, and steps for steel ladders. The crossbars are usually made of twisted square steel.
Grating panels are typically made of low-carbon steel Q235 and are hot-dipped galvanized for corrosion resistance. Stainless steel can also be used. Steel grating panels offer ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, anti-slip, and explosion-proof properties.
Manufacturing Methods of Grating Plates: There are two methods, machine press welding and handcrafted. Machine press welding utilizes a high-pressure resistance welding machine, where a robotic arm automatically places the crossbars across evenly arranged flat steel bars. The crossbars are then pressed into the flat steel using strong electric welding power and hydraulic pressure, resulting in high-quality grating plates with strong weld points, excellent stability, and strength. Handcrafted grating plates are first punched with holes in the flat steel, followed by inserting the crossbars and spot welding them into place. There will be gaps between the crossbars and flat steel, and it is impossible to weld every contact point, so the welding is not as secure, and the strength is reduced.
Grille panel features:
1. High strength, light structure: The sturdy grid pressure-welded structure ensures high load-bearing capacity and lightness in structure.
2. Features such as easy hoisting;
3. Aesthetically pleasing and durable: Hot-dip galvanized surface treatment provides excellent corrosion resistance.
4. Surface luster is attractive.
5. Good ventilation, lighting, heat dissipation, explosion-proof, and anti-slip performance; resistant to accumulation of dirt.
Grating Plate Applications: Widely used in various industries such as petrochemicals, municipal engineering, port engineering, machinery industry, power plants and waterworks, iron and steel industry, manufacturing, food processing, and more.
Steel Grating with Holes
Interlocking Steel Grating: Also known as double-interlocking steel grating, it is manufactured through processes such as slotting (punching), interlocking, welding, and finishing, using flat steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum plates of specific dimensions. The interlocking steel grating combines the high strength, corrosion resistance, and maintenance-free features of ordinary steel grating, with a uniform structure that is lightweight, exquisite, natural, harmonious, and elegant. This product is widely used for drain covers, stair treads, and pond covers.
