Introduction to Steel Grating

Steel grating, also known as steel grid or grating panel, is made by welding flat steel and twisted steel. Durable and cost-effective compared to other products, steel grating is primarily used in power plant platforms, parking lot platforms, maintenance platforms, drainage covers, and step plates. It is also used in environmental protection equipment and wastewater treatment. Steel grating is widely applied in platforms, walkways, trestles, drain covers, manholes, ladders, fences, and more across various industries such as petrochemicals, electricity, water supply, wastewater treatment, ports, construction decoration, shipbuilding, self-propelled parking lots, municipal engineering, and environmental sanitation projects.

Steel Grating Plates

Also known as steel grating or grid plate, it is a type of steel product made by crossing flat steel bars at specific intervals with crossbars, then welded together to form a square-grid pattern in the middle. Primarily used for drain covers, steel structure platform panels, and stair treads. The crossbars are typically made of twisted square steel.

Manufacturing Process of Steel Grating: Steel grating is made by arranging load-bearing flat steel and crossbars at certain intervals, then welded into a sheet using a 200-ton hydraulic resistance welding automation system. The sheet is then processed through cutting, punching, and edging to meet customer requirements. Load-bearing flat steel spacing: The spacing between adjacent load-bearing flat steels is commonly 30, 40, 50, and other sizes. Crossbar spacing: The spacing between adjacent crossbars is typically 50, 76, 80, 100, and other sizes, and can be produced according to customer specifications. Custom steel gratings of various models can be ordered based on customer needs.

Stainless Steel Grating

Also known as stainless steel grating panels. There are usually two methods of production: one involves welding together stainless steel flat bars and round bars; the other involves interlocking stainless steel flat bars. They offer excellent corrosion resistance, have a clean appearance, and provide a very ideal decorative effect, but are generally more expensive.

Stainless steel grating classification:

It can be categorized into flat, toothed, and I-shaped types, with over 200 specifications and varieties (the surface can be treated with different protective coatings depending on the application environment).

Material: Generally, stainless steel grades 304, 316, 316L, etc., are selected.

Manufacturing Method:

There are two types: machine welding and handcrafted. Machine welding utilizes a high-voltage resistance welding machine, where robotic arms automatically lay the crossbars across uniformly arranged flat steel bars, welding them securely into the flat steel using strong electric welding power and hydraulic pressure, resulting in high-quality steel grating with strong weld points, excellent stability, and high strength. Handcrafted steel grating involves pre-punching holes in the flat steel, then inserting the crossbars and spot-welding them in place. There will be gaps between the crossbars and flat steel, but each contact point is焊接, achieving a melting connection equivalent to that of flat steel and twisted steel, making the welds more solid and potentially increasing strength, although the appearance may not be as aesthetically pleasing as that of machine-welded grating.

Surface Treatment:

After pickling and passivation, the surface appears as a matte gray-white.

b. Electrochemical polishing results in a brighter surface with higher luster.

c. The finished products are heat treated and polished, followed by electrochemical polishing, and then chrome-plated to achieve a mirror-like finish.

Stainless Steel Grating Covers

Stainless steel channel grating, also known as stair tread plate, steel stair tread plate, or tread plate, is a type of stairboard used for platforms. It comes in two installation methods: welded connection and bolted connection. Welded tread plates can be directly welded to the stair beam.

Overview

Welded fixed tread plates, directly welded to the ladder beam; no need for side plates on the tread; relatively economical to use but not easily removable. Tread plates secured with bolts require reinforced side plates, pre-drilled for bolt installation, which can be reused and recycled. Customers can customize according to their actual needs, using suitable steel grating panels to create various sizes to match the corresponding staircase.
