Introduction to Steel Grating

Steel grating, also known as steel grate or grating panel, is made by welding flat steel and twisted steel. Durable and cost-effective compared to other products, steel grating is primarily used in power plant platforms, parking lot platforms, maintenance platforms, manhole covers, and tread plates. It is also employed in environmental protection equipment and wastewater treatment. Steel grating is widely used in platforms, walkways, gangways, manhole covers, well covers, ladders, fences, and more across various fields such as petrochemicals, electricity, water supply, wastewater treatment, port terminals, architectural decoration, shipbuilding, self-propelled parking lots, municipal engineering, and environmental protection engineering.

Steel Grating Plates

Also known as steel grating or grid panel, it is a type of steel product made by crossing flat steel bars at certain intervals with crossbars, then welded together to form a square grid pattern in the middle. It is primarily used for drain covers, steel structure platform panels, and step plates for steel ladders. The crossbars are typically made of twisted square steel.

Manufacturing Process of Steel Grating Panels: Steel grating panels are made by arranging load-bearing flat bars and crossbars at a certain spacing, then焊接 using a 200-ton hydraulic resistance welding automation equipment to form the original plate. After cutting, punching, and edging processes, the products meet the customer's requirements. Spacing of Load-bearing Flat Bars: The spacing between adjacent load-bearing flat bars commonly includes 30, 40, 50, and other sizes. Spacing of Crossbars: The spacing between adjacent crossbars typically ranges from 50, 76, 80, 100, and other options, which can be produced according to customer requirements and customized in various steel grating panel models to meet specific needs.

Stainless Steel Grating

Also known as stainless steel grating panels. There are usually two methods of manufacturing: one involves welding together stainless steel flat bars and round bars; the other is the interlocking of stainless steel flat bars. They offer strong corrosion resistance, a clean appearance, and a quite ideal decorative effect, although they are generally more expensive.

Stainless Steel Grating Categories:

It can be divided into flat, toothed, and I-shaped according to its shape, with over 200 specifications and varieties (the surface can be treated with different protective measures depending on the usage environment).

Material: Typically, stainless steel grades 304, 316, 316L are used.

Manufacturing Process:

There are two types: machine pressure welding and handcrafted. Machine pressure welding uses a high-voltage resistance welding machine, where a robotic arm automatically places the crossbar horizontally on uniformly arranged flat steel bars. It then welds the crossbar into the flat steel using strong electric welding power and hydraulic pressure, resulting in a high-quality steel grating with strong weld points, high stability, and strength. Handcrafted steel gratings are first punched with holes on the flat steel, then the crossbar is inserted into the holes and spot-welded. There is a gap between the crossbar and the flat steel, but each contact point is焊接, achieving equivalent melting connection with the flat steel and twisted steel, making the welding more solid and the strength slightly improved, although the appearance is not as aesthetically pleasing as pressure welding.

Surface Treatment:

After pickling and passivation, the surface is semi-glossy gray-white.

b. Electrochemical polishing results in a brighter surface with higher luster.

c. Products are heat treated and polished, followed by electrochemical polishing, then chromed, achieving a mirror-like finish.

Stainless Steel Grating Covers

Stainless steel grating covers, also known as stair tread plates, steel stair tread plates, or stair treads, are a type of stairboard used for platforms. They come in two installation methods: welded connections and bolted connections. Welded stair treads can be directly welded to the stair beam.

Overview

Welded fixed tread plates, directly welded to the ladder beam, without the need for additional side plates for the tread plates; more economical but not easily removable. For bolted tread plates, thicker side plates are required, with holes pre-drilled on the side plates for direct bolt installation, allowing for reuse and recycling. Customers can customize according to their specific needs, using suitable steel grating panels to create various sizes to match the corresponding staircase.
