    Dow's OBC product, known as Infuse, outperforms EVA and flexible PVC. Dow has initially identified potential applications for this material in flexible molding products, extruded profiles, hoses, pipes, elastic fibers and films, foamed products, coatings, tapes, and melt adhesives.

    This series of materials delivers the required performance to customers, exceeding that of Dow's metallocene Engage polyolefin elastomers (POE). The enhancements in performance include: a heat resistance increase of at least 40°C, faster processing speeds, improved wear resistance, and enhanced high and low temperature compression deformation properties.

    Dow employs Engage as an impact modifier in TPOs, yet Infuse holds a broader range of potential applications, including injection and extrusion molding for TPEs. Building on Dow's Insite technology, post-catalysts have been developed. Through this unique catalyst technology, Dow scientists have successfully synthesized OBC, a novel material that maintains the benefits of olefin thermoplastic elastomers while further overcoming their limitations. The block structure of OBC imparts superior processability and physical properties, making it excel in various application areas.

    INFUSE features of Dow's OBCs in the U.S.:

    Lower cost in similar flexible and soft formulations, improved high-temperature performance, excellent weather resistance, and lightweight.

    Compared to Ethylene Vinyl Acetate Copolymer (EVA), INFUSE Dow OBCs feature:

    Enhanced flexibility, higher heat resistance, improved compressive deformation, lightweight, and reduced sensory stimulation (taste and smell).

    Compared to flexible polyvinyl chloride (f-PVC), INFUSE Dow OBCs offer:

    A f-PVC substitute based on olefins, featuring a wider application temperature range, light weight, and minimal sensory stimulation (taste and smell).

    Compared to thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs), INFUSE US Dow OBCs offer:

    Superior compressive deformation, improved workability, low cost.

    Compared to various flexible polyolefins (including polyolefin elastomers [POEs], polyolefin plastics [POPs], and amorphous polyα-olefins [APAOs]), INFUSE US Dow OBCs offer:

    Enhanced elasticity and compression properties under high temperatures, improved wear resistance, faster cycle times, and improved resilience.
