Why Does Amazon Require UL Testing Reports for Electronics?
The United States is a country with stringent safety requirements; all electronic product manufacturers within the U.S. have been required to undergo relevant safety compliance testing for many years.
As Amazon's strategic position in global commerce continues to rise, electronic devices from overseas flood into the US market through Amazon. There is no mandatory safety regulation inspection for foreign electronic product manufacturers in the US. A series of incidents involving electronic products catching fire and other potential safety hazards have occurred. In response, relevant US departments have issued a special law targeting e-commerce, requiring Amazon to notify overseas e-commerce platforms selling on Amazon to provide relevant safety reports. Amazon must order merchants to halt sales before submitting a UL-standard inspection report. Additionally, the inspection report must be a qualified report issued by an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory.
