Electronic CE Certification Directive
LVD (Low Voltage Directive)
LVD stands for Low Voltage Directive; Directive Name: The Council Directive of February 19, 1973, coordinating the laws of the Member States concerning the design of electrical equipment for specific voltage limits.
The LVD Low Voltage Directive aims to ensure the safety of low voltage equipment during use. The scope of this directive covers electrical products using voltages ranging from AC 50V to 1500V and DC 75V to 1500V. It encompasses all safety rules for these devices, including protection against hazards caused by mechanical reasons. The design and structure of the equipment should guarantee that no danger arises when used according to its intended purpose, under normal operating conditions, or during faults.
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive)
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) refers to the ability of equipment or systems to operate in their electromagnetic environment without causing unacceptable electromagnetic interference to any equipment in that environment.
EMC encompasses two aspects of requirements: 1) It refers to the electromagnetic interference generated by the equipment during normal operation, which cannot exceed certain limits within the surrounding environment.
2. On the other hand, it refers to the degree of immunity the equipment has against electromagnetic interference present in the environment it is in, i.e., electromagnetic sensitivity.
Emc, abbreviated for Electromagnetic Compatibility, does not refer to the compatibility between electricity and magnetism, as electricity and magnetism are inherently inseparable and coexist as a physical phenomenon and environment. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) defines EMC as the ability for signals and interference to coexist without damaging the information contained within the signal. The study of electromagnetic compatibility aims to ensure that electrical components or devices can operate normally in an electromagnetic environment, as well as to investigate the mechanisms and preventive measures for the potential hazards of electromagnetic waves to social production activities and human health.
EMC is open-source computer control software for machine tools or robotic motion control systems, capable of driving up to 9-axis motors simultaneously.
Its motion control features include: tool radius and length compensation, axis synchronous motion, adaptive feed rate, constant speed control, etc.
EMC2 has incorporated numerous new features and functionalities into its existing EMC software, including the HAL and Software PLC modules, which are a ladder diagram interpreter based on the LGPL protocol. It is released alongside EMC2 and can operate in conjunction with EMC2's HAL. This article's control system leverages EMC2's HAL to provide low-level hardware operation support for applications in the Soft PLC, enhancing the platform independence and portability of the applications, as well as their resistance to electromagnetic interference.

CE Certification Process

Three Steps: The manufacturer ships the sample, the formal operation begins, and the manufacturer needs to coordinate with the submission of required documents. This varies depending on the specific project; many require factory inspections. The specific procedures for certification are executed according to legal regulations.
Four Steps: Confirm certificate information, make the final payment, and obtain the certificate.
CE Certification Cycle
The CE certification process depends on the product testing cycle, which typically takes 3-6 working weeks. The testing period varies depending on the specific product.
CE Certification Fee
CE certification costs vary depending on the product, with the total cost consisting of the certification fee, testing fee, and service fee.
CE Certification Validity
CE certification does not have a relative expiration date. The validity of CE certification is determined by when the standards for the product expire. There is no specific date mentioned; the expiration of a standard is governed by the EU. As for when changes are made, it depends on the EU's notification. Generally, products can be used for at least half a year to a year, as the old regulations can still be applied for half a year to a year after the introduction of new regulations.
CE Marking Scope
The CE mark is generally mandatory in the EU and other European countries excluding Russia, while it is non-mandatory in other countries. With both European and American standards being internationally recognized high-quality standards today, it is typically the case that other countries, although they have their own certifications, will also recognize the European CE mark.
