A stainless steel full-contact floating disk is an internal floating disk used for storage tanks, effectively reducing liquid evaporation losses and volatile organic compound (VOCs) emissions.
Structural Features:
Buoyancy Unit: Typically features a double-layer composite box structure, crafted from a single sheet of stainless steel and sealed through welding techniques. Only the vertical welds at the corners are submerged in liquid, reducing the likelihood of leakage into the box. For instance, the buoyancy box from Mu Chen Company consists of an inner and outer shell, with the outer shell made of 304 or 316L stainless steel plate and the inner shell a fully welded aluminum box for containing filling material.
Frame Structure: The floating disk frame is constructed with a composite stainless steel box, incorporating main beams, leg assemblies, and edge structural components, forming a high-strength load-bearing structure.
Sealing Device: Generally, a combination of spring-leaf annular sealing and secondary tongue scraper sealing is used. The spring-leaf annular sealing consists of pressure spring plates, diaphragm mounting plates, and sealing diaphragms, etc. The secondary sealing is airtight and flame-retardant, capable of automatically flipping according to the movement direction of the floating roof.
Operating Principle: Based on the principle of buoyancy, when the density of the liquid is greater than the density of the float, the float floats on the liquid surface due to buoyancy. As the liquid level changes, the float moves up and down accordingly, ensuring the entire surface of the float remains in full contact with the liquid inside the tank. This design minimizes the contact area between the liquid and air, thereby reducing the evaporation loss of the liquid to the maximum extent.
Features:
Excellent emission reduction performance: The all-liquid design fundamentally eliminates the gas phase space, cutting off the pathways for VOCs volatilization, achieving a VOCs emission reduction efficiency of over 85%.
High structural strength: Internally, it features a uniform distribution of numerous honeycomb cores, with no less than 2,500 per square meter. The module's compressive strength reaches 5 times the API 650 standard, with a buoyancy ratio of not less than 2.5, effectively preventing deformation and damage issues.
Reliable sealing performance: Utilizes advanced laser welding technology, achieving a liquid contact area rate of over 99.5%, and equipped with an edge compensation sealing system, which minimizes leakage points to near zero.
Construction Efficiency: Utilizing modular assembly, modules can be transported through manholes without the need for any firework operations. Compared to traditional construction methods, the project timeline can be shortened by 30%.
Durable & Eco-friendly: Made of 304 stainless steel, resistant to corrosion and high temperatures, with a lifespan over 20 years, and the material is recyclable.
Application Scenario:
Petroleum & Chemical Industry: Storage tanks for gasoline and volatile organic liquids such as benzene.
Food and Beverage Industry: Suitable for storing liquids such as wines, edible oils, etc., these tanks help ensure product quality and minimize losses due to evaporation.
Environmental Engineering Field: Used in environmental projects such as wastewater treatment to regulate the liquid level in ponds and tanks, and can also reduce the volatilization of volatile substances in wastewater, minimizing environmental pollution.
