Four, the requirements for OHSAS 18001 certification
Should possess the necessary qualifications (such as business license, organization code, relevant national administrative approval qualifications or industry qualifications, safety production license, etc.), have the relevant facilities and resources, and be able to conduct business operations normally. Can provide business operation records of more than three months.
Industries that significantly impact employees' occupational health and safety during establishment and operation (partial high-risk industries) should have a safety evaluation report, have configured occupational health protection facilities in accordance with the report's requirements, passed the local competent authority's inspection, and have not experienced serious safety production accidents in recent times.
V. OHSAS 18001 Certification Process
Typically, the process of obtaining certification is divided into two stages.
Certification Service Phase: Post-contract signing, assign a certification service instructor to conduct a survey of the company, ascertain the company's certification intent, assist in determining the organizational structure and division of responsibilities, scope of the system, compile and refine the system documents required for certification, provide relevant training to company personnel, guide the company in operating according to the requirements of the management system documents, and be responsible for the application process for the company's certification.
Certification Audit Phase: Assign certification auditors to the company to conduct certification audits of the activities within the scope of the certification application, in accordance with the certification standards and the company's system documents. The focus is to verify the company's situation and compile certification documents and records. Upon completion of the certification audit, report to the certification authority for certificate issuance.
VI. OHSAS 18001 will be replaced by ISO 45001.
March 12, 2019, ISO 45001 was officially released. It's the world's first ISO standard for occupational health and safety, designed to help businesses provide a safe and healthy work environment for their employees and others, prevent deaths, injuries, and health issues, and commit to continuous improvement of occupational health and safety performance. After the publication of ISO 45001, it will replace the OHSAS 18001 standard.Organizations currently holding the OHSAS 18001 certification will have three years to transition to the ISO 45001 certification.
