ATEX Certification
ATEX is the European directive for "Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres," aimed at creating a single market within Europe, removing technical barriers to trade, and ensuring the free circulation of equipment intended for potentially explosive environments among member states. This directive covers both mining and non-mining equipment (including mechanical and electrical equipment), extends the potential explosive environment to airborne dust and flammable gases, vapors, and mists, and stipulates the basic health and safety requirements for equipment intended for potentially explosive atmospheres, as well as the conformity assessment procedures that must be adopted before the equipment enters the European market. The current directive is 2014/34/EU.

How to apply for an explosion-proof certificate for a modular equipment?
There is an increasing number of combination-type equipment used in explosion-proof areas, achieving more complex functions. (1) Explosion-proof performance only considers the electrical components, such as installation and connection between electrical parts, grounding, etc., without considering the steel structure part.
(2) Electrical components must be purchased and installed with explosion-proof certification or a Class 3C explosion-proof certificate. If suitable explosion-proof electrical components are not available, consider using explosion-proof/positive pressure methods for installation.
(3) The explosion-proof marking of the selected explosion-proof electrical components must not be lower than the explosion-proof marking grade of the entire machine.
(4) Explosion-proof electrical components must be installed, electrical connections, grounding, etc., in compliance with standard requirements.
