Performance and Applications
1. Soluble in alcohols, diols, cottonseed oil, and mineral oils, with good emulsifying, wetting, and dispersing properties; OV-10 and OV-24 are easily soluble in water.
2. Used as a softener, lubricant, solubilizer, and emulsifier in cosmetic production, for the manufacture of astringent creams and lotions; can act as a solubilizer for brominated acids, used in lipsticks and liquid lip balms. Also suitable for preparing bubble baths, shampoos, cold wave treatments, depilatories, and hair straighteners, among others.
3. Also serves as an oil-soluble spreader, used in the preparation of transparent gels with mineral oil, isopropyl esters, refined oil alcohols, and water. Primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry as an emulsifier, lubricant, and solubilizer, for the production of emulsions and ointments.
4. Used as an emulsifying wetting agent, heavy-duty cleaner, a dispersant in the rubber industry, and a component of oil spill dispersants in the petroleum industry and environmental protection sectors.
