Imported explosion-proof equipment now has an ATEX certification. How can it obtain a domestic explosion-proof certification?
If the imported equipment has a valid ATEX certification, it cannot be converted to a domestic explosion-proof certification.
You must apply for the domestic explosion-proof certification or explosion-proof 3C certification according to the new product and application process.

Domestic explosion-proof certifications cannot be directly converted to IECEx certifications. This is because the Chinese explosion-proof certification standard GB/T3836 is essentially a direct citation of the gup ji IECEx explosion-proof certification standard (IEC60079). Therefore, even with NEPSI certification, a direct conversion to IECEx certification is not possible.

ATEX Certification Application
The EU has restricted the issuance of ATEX certification to only authorized notified bodies within the EU to control the safety performance of explosion-proof equipment.
Currently, there were 24 notified bodies involved in the ATEX Directive.
As of May 21, 2014, 67 European institutions have obtained authorization from the EU notification.
Commonly compared ATEX notified bodies include TÜV SÜD, TÜV Nord, TÜV Rheinland, DNV, BV, QS, DEKRA, EUROFINS, UL, CSA, ECM, etc.

Currently, IECEx certification is driven by standards, which is a voluntary certification.
But in the international market, the recognition of IECEx certification is relatively high, with most IECEx member states either directly or indirectly recognizing IECEx certification.
If the product has obtained IECEx certification, provide a valid Testing Report (including Ex Reports and Factory Quality Assurance Reports (QAR) issued by Ex CBs in other member states of the IECEx system).
Testing is only partially required for manufacturers from other member states holding an IEC Ex certificate to apply for their regional certification pathways.
For example, China, also an IEC member, but explosion-proof products in China require an application for the Chinese explosion-proof certificate or coal safety certification.
This cannot be replaced by IECEx. In summary, if a country is a member of IEC but also has its own mandatory explosion-proof certification,
Typically, it is mandatory to apply for your own explosion-proof certification and cannot be substituted solely with an IECEx explosion-proof certification.
Of course, at times, you can utilize the existing IECEx Report (additional testing items may be required).
