IECEx member states' certification bodies recognized and authorized by the IECEx system are referred to as IECEx Certified Bodies (ExCB). Only ExCBs are authorized to conduct IECEx system explosion-proof product certification.
ExCB is primarily responsible for the following certification tasks:
1. Accept IECEx certification applications.
2. Organize Explosion Proof Testing Laboratory (ExTL) to conduct Explosion Proof Type Testing for the products applying for certification (including explosion proof review of technical drawings and documents, as well as sample machine testing).
3. Review Explosion-Proof Report (ExTR)
4. Conduct factory quality condition inspections for manufacturers applying for certification, compile and review the Factory Quality Condition Report (QAR).
