Diesel engines can simply suffer from knocking incidents in 100-degree hot water, so diesel generators should cease operation or reduce load when the coolant temperature exceeds 95 degrees. Diesel generator sets are powered by diesel generators, and the high-speed mechanical unit power must rely on lubricating oil to reduce mechanical friction and maintain normal mechanical operation. Therefore, diesel generators cannot run without these two oils: fuel and oil. Let's look at the two uses of this knowledge. Diesel generator sets are used for diesel engines in power generation equipment, and the quality of fuel directly affects the lifespan of the diesel engine. Qualified diesel fuel has a lower octane rating and is more yellow or light yellow in color. If the diesel engine is cloudy or black, or colorless, it should not be used. The density of diesel is approximately 0.85. If there is too much high-density component in the water, do not use diesel. Low pump speed, excessive scale inside the pump, and narrow passages can reduce the flow of coolant, decrease heat dissipation performance, and increase the oil temperature of the diesel generator.
Generator Maintenance A-Level Inspection
1. Prior to startup, check the generator oil level. Some oil dipsticks have two marks: the high mark "H" and the low mark "L".
2. Check the oil level with the oil dipstick on the generator. For an accurate reading, the oil level should be checked after the engine has been off for 15 minutes. The oil dipstick should be matched with the original equipment's oil pan, keeping the oil level as close to the high "H" mark as possible.
Do not operate the engine if the oil level is below the low mark "L" or above the high mark "H".
3. Increase the level of the engine coolant to maintain the cooling system full to the operating level. Check the coolant level daily or during each fueling, investigate the cause of coolant consumption, and only check the coolant level after it has cooled down.

Generator Maintenance C-Level Inspection
Inspect cylinder head components: Remove the cylinder head and check for wear on the cylinder head, valves, valve seats, valve guides, valve springs, connecting rods, and rockers. Perform grinding or replacement as necessary.
2. Remove the piston, connecting rod bearing, inspect and clean; assess the wear on the piston and cylinder sleeve. Replace if necessary.
3. Inspect the condition of connecting rods, rod bearings, valve mechanism, and adjusters, and if any looseness or damage is found, they should be repaired.
4. Remove the cover and inspect the cylinder seal water gasket from the bottom of the cylinder sleeve.
5. Remove the top cover and inspect if the injector on the transmission cover is clogged. If clogged, it should be cleared.
6. Inspect the wear on the crankshaft assembly, thrust bearings, and thrust plates; check for any play in the inner and outer rings of the rolling main bearings. Replace if necessary.
7. Inspect the transmission mechanism, remove the front cover, observe the wear on the mating surfaces of the transmission gears, measure the meshing clearance, and repair or replace as necessary.
8. Inspect the injector, test its spraying performance on a test bench, and grind or replace the injector and other components if necessary.
9. Inspect the sealing condition of the fuel injection pump and components like the plunger, and check for wear on the anti-rust pins; replace as necessary.
10. Inspect the oil pump, coolant pump, and turbocharger; disassemble and measure the wear-prone parts, and make necessary adjustments.
11. Inspect the charger and starter motor, clean all components, apply new lubricant after drying the bearings, and check the wear of the starter gears and the flexibility of the transmission system.
12. Clean sediment, dirt, and scale from waterways.
13. During installation, it is mandatory to replace the piston rings, connecting rod bushes, upper repair kit, and lower repair kit.

The generator should regularly inspect and replace the engine oil as per regulations. After a period of use, the engine oil in the diesel engine will contain metal shavings, minerals, moisture, and diesel contamination, causing changes in the oil. Therefore, the engine oil should be replaced according to the manufacturer's recommended usage period. Moreover, impurities and moisture are not permitted in diesel. There are many precision parts in the fuel supply system, such as the plungers and plungers sleeves in the fuel injection pump, the pintle and pintle seat in the injector, and the outlet valve components, etc. The clearance between these parts is very small (some as low as 0.001 to 0.003 mm). The nozzle diameter of the injector assembly is generally around 0.30 mm. Hence, without sedimentation and filtration, larger impurities in the diesel can block the nozzle holes in the injector assembly, leading to severe wear or even jamming of the precision components, causing the diesel engine to malfunction and decrease its output power.
