Engine knock can occur due to factors such as overly advanced ignition timing, engine load, temperature, and fuel quality. When knock occurs, the gas combustion happens before the piston reaches top dead center, resulting in noise and reduced engine power at best, and engine mechanical component damage at worst. To prevent knock, a knock sensor is an indispensable crucial component, allowing for adjustment of the ignition timing through electronic control systems.

Abnormal noise from generator
When the stator and rotor rub against each other, a piercing "click-click" rubbing sound is produced. Check the bearings, and replace them if damaged. If the bearings are not damaged but show signs of inner or outer ring wear, consider fitting sleeves or replacing the bearings and end caps.
2. The motor runs with a missing phase, producing a particularly loud noise. Try turning off and then back on the power to see if it can start normally again. If it cannot start, there may be a phase open circuit. A missing phase can also occur if the switch and contactor contacts are not properly connected.
3. When the bearing is severely oil-starved, a "squeaky" sound can be heard from the bearing chamber. The bearing should be cleaned and new oil should be added.
4. Blade contact with the housing or presence of debris can cause a clanging noise. Adjust the blades and clear away any debris around them.
5. Rotor bar fracture, accompanied by intermittent "humming" sounds at varying pitches, slower rotation speed, and increased current.
6. Stator winding lead connection error at the beginning and end, with a deep roar sound and a decrease in speed.

1. External inspection of the generator set. 2. Internal inspection items for the diesel engine (dismantling for inspection), including a comprehensive check of the motor and control section. 3. Cleaning of all engine components prior to maintenance. 4. Inspection and measurement of engine components (some parts with a repair history are no longer standard). 5. List of replacement parts required for the generator set. 6. Assembly of all components of the generator set. 7. Inspection before testing the assembled diesel engine. 8. Testing of the diesel engine and checks on the motor and control section. 9. Various inspections during the磨合 period of the generator set. 10. Normal operation and delivery for use after the磨合 period of the generator set.

Minor Fault Repair: Inspection and maintenance conducted for minor equipment failures, focusing on the observed fault phenomena.
Minor Maintenance: (Usage Time: 3,000-4,000 hours)
1. Inspect the diesel generator set valves and valve seats for wear, and perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
2. Inspect the diesel generator set's PT pump and injector operation; perform repairs and adjustments as necessary.
3. Inspect and adjust the torque of the diesel generator set connecting rods and all fastening screws.
4. Inspect and adjust the diesel generator set's valve clearance.
5. Adjust the diesel generator set's injector stroke.
6. Check and adjust the tension of the fan charger belt.
7. Clean carbon deposits from the intake manifold.
8. Clean the intercooler core.
9. Clean the entire diesel generator set's oil lubrication system.
10. Clean oil sludge and metal shavings from the washing arm chamber and oil pan.
8 Operating Tips for Diesel Generator Sets After Startup Many people believe that once a diesel generator set starts up normally, there's no need for much attention. However, this is incorrect, as it's actually when they are most prone to malfunctions. Therefore, regular checks are necessary to ensure proper operation. Below are 8 guidelines for use after startup: 1. Set the voltage selector switch on the switch panel to manual. 2. Turn on the fuel switch and position the throttle handle at approximately 700 RPM. 3. Manually pump fuel continuously using the high-pressure fuel pump handle until resistance is felt and the injector emits a clear click. 4. Place the fuel pump handle in the operating position and push the pressure relief valve to the relief position. 5. Start the diesel engine by turning the hand crank or pressing the electric start button. Once the engine reaches a certain RPM, quickly pull the throttle back to the operating position to ignite the engine. 6. After startup, return the ignition key to the middle position, maintain the RPM between 600-700, and closely monitor the oil pressure gauge. If there is no oil pressure indication, stop the engine immediately for inspection.
