The UV weatherability test chamber is primarily used for artificial acceleration testing of plastics, coatings, and rubber materials under simulated conditions of sunlight, rain, and dew. It is employed to evaluate changes in materials regarding fading, color changes, luster, cracking, bubbling, brittleness, and oxidation. Fluorescent UV lamps are used to simulate the effects of light on physical properties, such as light intensity decrease, fading, and peeling. Most UV fluorescent lamps produce UV light rather than visible and infrared light. The short-wavelength UV they use is more intense than the UV light typically found on Earth's surface. Despite these UV lights with shorter wavelengths significantly accelerating tests, they provide a basis for improving material formulations and product performance. After testing, performance is assessed through detection to determine if the product still meets the specified requirements, for product design, improvement, certification, and factory inspection. The reason for using UV lamps is that they are more stable than other lamps and can reproduce test results. 12. UVA-340 simulates sunlight UV radiation, covering the critical short-wave wavelength spectrum of sunlight, specifically the spectrum ranging from 295 to 360nm. UVA-340 produces only the UV wavelengths found in sunlight. UVB-313 is used for accelerated testing, with a wavelength range of 280 to 320nm, providing test results quickly.
13. Exposure Method: Steam condensation mechanism. After the specified radiation exposure time, the sample surface transitions to a simulated night-time non-radiation state. At this point, the sample surface is still heated by the saturated mixture of hot air and steam within the exposure room, while the back of the sample continues to be cooled by the surrounding space, creating an exposure state with condensation on the sample surface.
14. Optional: UV Radiation Sensor, the Z-UV UV Light Weatherability Test Chamber is equipped with a UV radiation sensor. It is a precise photometric control system that allows users to select the desired illuminance level. It can continuously monitor and automatically maintain the illuminance intensity. It can make timely corrections to the light energy due to tube aging or any other changes by adjusting the lamp tube energy.
