Grinding is a process carried out on castings in the foundry. Regarding the grinder(Sandpaper Machine), it should be chosen based on ease of operation, appropriate efficiency, labor and abrasive saving, low labor intensity, long machine lifespan, and good economic benefits. The type of polishing machine can be selected according to the size and geometric shape of the casting. Generally, small parts use fixed-type sandpaper machines, while large parts use suspended-type sandpaper machines. The casting remains stationary while the suspended sandpaper machine moves within an appropriate radius, or a handheld pneumatic or electric small sandpaper grinder can be used for any part. Although convenient, these machines are not very efficient, consume a lot of small sandpaper, have high labor intensity, and are costly. Handcart-type sandpaper machines are more suitable for medium-sized castings for grinding flat surfaces or cutting off excess risers and runners. Simple handcart-type sandpaper machines can be homemade in large-scale foundries, are easy to use, provide suitable results, and their outline dimensions can be adjusted according to the casting.
