06Cr23Ni13 is a sulfur-containing machinable stainless steel, suitable for applications that primarily require good machinability and high surface finish.
309L is a variant of the low-carbon 309 stainless steel, suitable for welding applications. The lower carbon content minimizes the precipitation of carbides in the heat-affected zone near the weld, which can lead to intergranular corrosion (welding corrosion) in stainless steel under certain conditions.
Stainless steel sheets feature a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness, and mechanical strength, and are resistant to corrosion from gases, solutions, and other media. It is an alloy steel that is not prone to rust, though it is not entirely rust-proof.
