1. Appearance and Description:
High-purity hafnium, also known as crystalline hafnium, is a silver-gray metallic crystal with metallic luster.
| Pure Tungsten Rhenium | Chemical Formula: Hf |
| Molecular Weight: 178.49 | Density: 13.31 g/cm³ |
| Melting Point: Approximately 2227°C | Boiling Point: Approximately 4602°C |
2. Nature:
Excellent corrosion resistance; not easily eroded by general aqueous solutions; readily dissolves in hydrofluoric acid to form fluoro complexes. At high temperatures, hafnium can directly react with gases like oxygen and nitrogen to form oxides and nitrides; hafnium is relatively stable in air, and powdered hafnium is highly flammable; hafnium has a large thermal neutron capture cross-section, exhibits notable nuclear properties, and is an indispensable rare material for the development of the atomic energy industry.
3. Application:
Primarily used in the production of hafnium-based alloys, hafnium's ability to rapidly absorb and release heat (twice as fast as zirconium and titanium) makes it suitable for structural materials in jet engines and missiles. Hafnium's refractory nature allows it to be used in turbine jet engine blades and in freeze-point depression jet engines. It is also employed in the manufacture of valves, nozzles, and other high-temperature components.
4. Packaging:
1) High-strength wooden boxes: Lined with double-layered plastic bags filled with argon and sealed in packaging bags, 50Kg/box.
2) Special packaging requirements by the customer will be accommodated as per their specifications.
