Description

I. Key Performance Features

1. Antifreeze: The fire hydrant features an automatic drainage device structurally. This device can automatically seal or drain water based on the water pressure inside the hydrant. When the hydrant is activated, the drainage valve automatically seals when the water pressure is no less than 0.1MPa; after the hydrant is closed, the drainage device automatically opens to discharge excess water.

2. Collision Prevention: The fire hydrant is equipped with collision-resistant components structurally, and also features a spring-closed drain outlet for positive pressure sealing. Upon impact, the hydrant's valve head closes immediately under pipeline pressure, ensuring no leakage of water within the pipeline and not affecting the normal operation of other hydrants on the same pipeline. If the collision-resistant components break, the hydrant body and valve body remain undamaged. The hydrant can be repaired under pressure after being broken by impact.

V. Selection

1. Based on the design requirements and specifications for fire protection engineering projects, as well as the "Outdoor Fire Hydrant and Fire Pump Installation" catalog, select the model and specifications of above-ground fire hydrants. Determine the depth of frozen soil according to the different usage environment and region, and ascertain the total height dimensions of the above-ground fire hydrants based on the installation illustration.

2. When selecting the fire hydrant design, it is crucial to fully consider the location and height of the groundwater. It must be ensured that the position of the drain valve during installation is more than 100mm above the groundwater level; otherwise, the fire hydrant may fail to operate normally. !!!

3. Install using either branch pipe or main trunk method as per actual requirements; the connection dimensions remain unchanged.

Section 7: Installation

Upon receiving the fire hydrant, remove the packaging and inspect for any damage to the exterior and ensure all accessories are complete.

2. Place a standard rubber gasket on the installed pipeline flange, secure the fire hydrant to the flange with bolts, ensuring the suction port faces the road. After connection, open all three outlets of the fire hydrant, start the pipeline fire pump, and flush out impurities in the fire pipeline. Once flushing is complete, close the fire hydrant and the cover.

3. Conduct pressure-sealing tests, as well as tests for opening, closing, and automatic draining.

4. Place a certain amount of gravel around the drain outlet, with the gravel extending from the top of the flange to the bottom of the pipeline. The area should be approximately 500-700mm in diameter around the outlet. The diameter of the gravel should be about 20-40mm to absorb excess water in the cavity and prevent the drain hole from clogging.

5. Backfill soil is compacted to fill the space between the ground and the gravel.

6. Installation Precautions:

When connecting with bolts, they should be tightened symmetrically to ensure uniform stress distribution among all bolts.

b. The fire hydrant's toggle is positioned at the operator's right hand side, facing the protected area directly, facilitating easy operation by personnel.

Section 8: Usage and Operation

1. Screw the fire hydrant handle onto the switch panel and push the handle clockwise to open it. After rotating approximately 4 turns, it will reach a wide open position, and the automatic drain valve will close and seal automatically.

2. Turn the handle clockwise with your hand to return the wrench to its original position, thereby fully closing the fire hydrant. Do not tighten the lid at this point. Gently open one lid to allow outside air to enter the interior of the hydrant. At this time, the automatic drain valve will open automatically, and excess water in the hydrant will be drained out according to the amount of remaining water.

3. Cautionary Notes for Starting or Stopping:

a. When opening or closing to the extreme position (after rotating 4-5 turns for opening and returning to the original position where it can't be turned any further), no extra force is needed; otherwise, the mechanism may be damaged.

b. Pay attention to controlling the opening height, ensuring it meets the specified outlet working pressure of the fire protection equipment being used.

4. Usage Precautions: For ground-mounted outdoor fire hydrants, the suction port is exclusively for fire trucks to draw water. The double hose connection is used to connect the hoses for extinguishing fires. When using the suction port to discharge water, both hose connection outlets must be closed to prevent leakage and affect water flow pressure.

Section 9: Maintenance and Care

1. Periodically inspect the fire hydrants to ensure they are in the closed position and for any signs of leakage.

2. Apply molybdenum disulfide extreme pressure lithium-based grease to the lift valve rod and other lubrication areas. Suggested maintenance interval: once every 3-6 months.

3. To maintain the equipment in good condition for the long term, it is essential to regularly clean the internal components of the fire hydrant and inspect for any signs of leakage in the sealed areas.

Inspect and remove any obstructions near the fire hydrant.

4. Fire hydrants are typically closed. Use a special wrench to open them. After each use, apply a drain valve to completely drain any remaining water to prevent freezing damage to the hydrant body. Pay special attention to insulation measures during severe winters, close the hydrant to prevent it from cracking due to freezing.

5. ATTENTION!!! If the fire hydrant is not tightly closed, loosen it several times, rinse with clean water before closing, and strictly prohibit a forceful closure to avoid damaging the hydrant components.
