Fully Automatic Soft Water Equipment

Shut-down Maintenance for Softening Water Equipment
Before temporarily shutting down the softener, thoroughly regenerate the ion exchange resin. Convert the resin to sodium form for wet maintenance. During the summer shutdown (such as for heating boiler softeners, which are typically shut down for several months), the softener should be flushed at least once a month to prevent microbial growth in the exchange tank, which can cause the resin to mildew and cake. If mildewing is detected, sterilization can be performed. Generally, soak the resin in a 1% formaldehyde solution for several hours, then rinse until the formaldehyde odor is gone. For winter shutdown, take anti-freezing measures to prevent the resin from cracking and breaking due to frozen water inside. Store the resin in a brine solution; the concentration of the brine should be adjusted according to the temperature conditions.
