Through cement, mortar, and concrete tests, it is found that concrete made with mechanical sand differs little from that made with natural sand. Generally speaking, under the same slump condition, mechanical sand requires slightly more water, but this should be considered based on construction conditions, structural elements, and transportation factors. However, the strength of the concrete remains largely unchanged; when preparing pumpable concrete and other special concrete with mechanical sand, pay attention to not exceeding the sand ratio to prevent a decrease in concrete strength and durability, among other quality factors.

What is manufactured sand?
In accordance with the provisions of "Sand for Construction" (GB/T14684-2011): Rock, ore tailings, or industrial waste slag particles, processed by soil removal, mechanically crushed and sieved, with particle sizes less than 4.7mm, but excluding soft, weathered particles.

Mechanically produced sand, often made from materials such as granite, basalt, river pebbles, cobblestones, andesite, rhyolite, dolerite, diorite, sandstone, and limestone, varies in strength and application based on the type of rock used.

Mechanical sand production typically involves a complete production line operation, including equipment such as vibratory feeders, crushers, sand-making machines, vibrating screens, belt conveyors, and sand washers. Mobile sand-making machines are also gaining increasing attention from customers. If the raw material is small pebbles, they can be directly fed into the sand-making machine without passing through a crusher to produce mechanical sand.
