1. Compressibility Index:
Generally, the impact strength is determined using an impact testing machine. The method involves individually striking 10 specimens with a diameter of 50-75mm with an iron hammer. Initially, the drop height is smaller, gradually increasing until the basalt rock material breaks. The average impact energy at the moment of breakage is divided by the particle size of the specimen, which is the impact strength. Then, it is converted to the friability index according to the empirical formula.
2. Abrasion Index:
The abrasiveness index is tested and determined within a small rod mill. A typical test rod mill measures 200mm×380mm and is made of stainless steel, with two methods: continuous and quantitative. The continuous method is similar to actual production conditions and requires more basalt aggregates. The quantitative method involves filling a small rod mill with a predetermined amount of crushed stone, and once the product particle size roughly meets the requirements, measuring its operating time, power consumption, and throughput, and then calculating its abrasiveness index.
3. Abrasion Index:
The abrasive index tester is a rotating drum equipped with a standard steel impeller. The sample particle size is 12-19mm, weighing 400g. It is placed in the drum for a 60-minute abrasive test to measure the wear of the impeller.
