Gabion baskets are made from low-carbon steel wire, surface-coated for corrosion resistance, woven into double-hinged hexagonal flexible metal mesh, then cut, stitched, and assembled into various sizes of baskets. They are applied in hydraulic engineering, road, railway projects, and embankment protection works. Gabion baskets offer excellent ecological functions; the gaps between the baskets promote vegetation growth, allowing for the simple application of soil on the surface to create an environment similar to a natural ecosystem.
