Coconut shell activated carbon is produced from coconut shells through a series of manufacturing processes. It appears as black granular material. However, due to factors such as origin of coconut shells, it is more expensive than traditional wood-based activated carbon. Coconut shell activated carbon is primarily used for purifying drinking water, pure water, wines, beverages, industrial wastewater; it is also employed in precious metal extraction, decolorization, dechlorination, odor removal, and for desulfurization in the oil refining industry.
