The principle of a clean bench involves filtering indoor air through a pre-filter, then compressing it by a small centrifugal fan into a static pressure box. The air is further filtered through a high-efficiency air filter, resulting in a clean airflow with a consistent cross-sectional velocity. This airflow can displace the original air in the work area, carrying away dust and biological particles, to create a sterile, high-purity working environment.
Operation Instructions for Cleanroom Workbench

In industrialized production, where a large amount of inoculation work is required and long hours of continuous work are needed, the ultra-clean bench is an ideal piece of equipment. The ultra-clean bench is powered by a three-phase motor with a power of approximately 145-260W. The air is blown out after passing through a "super filter" consisting of layered sheets of special micro-porous foam plastic, creating a continuous, dust-free and sterile air laminar flow, known as "effective special air." This air removes particles, fungi, and bacterial spores larger than 0.3μm. The flow rate of the ultra-clean air is 24-30m/min, which is sufficient to prevent contamination caused by nearby air disturbances and does not interfere with the sterilization of instruments using alcohol lamps or Bunsen burners. Staff operate under these sterile conditions, ensuring that sterile materials remain uncontaminated during transfer and inoculation. However, in the event of a power outage during operation, materials exposed to unfiltered air are at risk of contamination. In such cases, work should be terminated immediately, and a mark should be made on the bottle. If the contents are in the proliferation stage, they should no longer be used for proliferation and should be transferred to rooting culture. For general production materials, they can be discarded if abundant. If they are in the rooting stage, they can be saved for future planting.
Maintenance of Clean Workbenches:
1. According to actual usage, remove and clean the initial efficiency filter regularly, with a cleaning cycle typically ranging from 3 to 6 months. (If not cleaned for a long time, accumulated dust can reduce the air intake and diminish the cleanliness effect.)
2. If the ideal cross-sectional air velocity is not achieved after normal replacement or cleaning of the primary air filter, adjust the fan's working voltage (by turning the knob) to achieve the desired uniform air velocity (for the new workbench, set the fan's working voltage to 80V~90V upon initial use).
3. Generally, after 18 months of use, if the fan's operating voltage is adjusted to the highest point and the desired wind speed is still not achieved, it indicates that the high-efficiency air filter has accumulated too much dust (the filter holes have been mostly blocked, and it is necessary to replace it promptly). The lifespan of a high-efficiency air filter is typically 18 months.
4. When replacing high-efficiency air filters, ensure the correct model, specifications, and dimensions (as originally configured by the manufacturer), install according to the arrow indicating wind direction, and pay attention to the surrounding seal of the filter to ensure there is absolutely no leakage.
