Self-limiting electric heating tape, also known as self-regulating or self-controlled electric heating tape, autonomously adjusts the local heating power of the tape based on temperature changes under normal operating conditions.
As shown in the figure, after applying the working voltage, conductive particles in the semiconductor core strip form a current path between the busbars. As the temperature rises, the semiconductor core strip expands, reducing the current path and decreasing power; conversely, power increases. The conductive carbon particles in the semiconductor core strip are extremely small, and this regulating mechanism exists at every complete structure of the self-limiting temperature electric heating tape. Therefore, in applications where temperature control is not required, the self-limiting temperature electric heating tape can be used without a temperature controller; any trimming and connection within its usage length will not affect its heating structure, and it can be overlapped without causing overheating that damages the heating structure.

Three-layer co-extruded self-limiting electric heating tape
This product incorporates our company's cutting-edge domestic technology, with its core technology being the one-time extrusion production of a conductor, a low-resistance transition layer wrapped around the conductor, a semiconductor core strip, and an inner insulation layer. The self-limiting temperature electric heating cable produced using the triple-squeeze technique benefits from the dense structure within the semiconductor core strip's inner insulation layer, reducing the impact of air, water, oil, and impurities on the various layers of the semiconductor core strip. This consequently minimizes the attenuation rate and starting current of the semiconductor core strip, enhancing the service life of the self-limiting temperature electric heating cable.
