Polyhydric phosphate esters are a new type of water treatment chemical with excellent scale inhibition and corrosion inhibition properties. Due to the introduction of multiple polyoxyethylene groups in the molecule, not only is the corrosion inhibition performance enhanced, but also the scale inhibition against calcium and the dispersing ability against silt and sand are improved. It exhibits excellent inhibition against barium and strontium scale deposits in water that current domestic scale inhibitors cannot control, and also has excellent scale inhibition for the precipitation of difficultly soluble salts like calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate in water. It provides cathodic protection for steel and has better corrosion inhibition effects than similar domestic products. Polyhydric phosphate esters are highly miscible with water stabilizers such as polycarboxylates, organic lignates, inorganic phosphates, and zinc salts. They are used as scale inhibitors in oil field water injection and as corrosion and scale inhibitors in industrial cooling water treatment.
