The surface tension of PEN film depends on the surface free energy of the PEN film, which is determined by the molecular structure of the film material itself. Most PEN films, such as polyolefin films (LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE, PP), are non-polar polymers, having a low surface free energy and surface wet tension, typically around 30 dynes/cm.
PEN film boasts excellent long-term high-temperature aging resistance, suitable for continuous use at 155°C, meeting F-grade requirements. It maintains good dimensional stability under high temperatures with low thermal shrinkage, preserving its original mechanical properties well. It also features a lower oligomer (Oligomer) extraction rate and superior properties such as better glass transition temperature, hardness, hydrolysis resistance, and UV (UV) radiation resistance compared to PET.
PEN film finds extensive applications in the packaging industry. It is used for food packaging, electronic products packaging, daily necessities packaging, clothing packaging, and more. A commonality among them is that colored printing is required on the PEN film, and for food packaging, additional processes such as multi-layer lamination or vacuum aluminum coating are also necessary.
