PEN film has greater strength than polyethylene film, offering odorless, non-toxic, impermeable, oil, ester, boil-resistant, and most solvent-resistant properties. It is commonly used for packaging that requires bearing loads, as well as for sterilization packaging (for food reheating). It can be printed without surface treatment.
PEN film boasts excellent long-term high-temperature aging resistance, suitable for continuous use at 155℃ and meets F-grade requirements. It maintains good dimensional stability under high temperatures, with low thermal shrinkage and effectively preserves its mechanical properties. It also features a lower oligomer (Oligomer) extraction rate and superior properties such as glass transition temperature, hardness, hydrolysis resistance, and UV (Ultraviolet) resistance compared to PET.
PEN film is suitable for electrical insulation at temperature classes F and H, widely used in the electronics industry for labels, FPCs (Flexible Printed Circuits), MTS (Film Touch Switches), and speaker coils, as well as in packaging and general industrial applications. PEN film-made tapes are particularly extensively used in automotive instrument panels and seat sensors, among other components, within FPCs.

The surface tension of PEN film depends on the surface free energy of the PEN film, which in turn is determined by the molecular structure of the film material itself. Most PEN films, such as polyolefin films (LDPE, HDPE, LLDPE, PP), are non-polar polymers with low surface free energy, resulting in lower surface wet tension, typically around 30 dynes/cm.
