The "Code of Practice for Handover and Preventive Through-Testing of Electrical Equipment" also mandates regular determination of transformer ratios for transformers in operation. Transformer ratio testing can inspect the condition of the transformer windings and tap changers, determine if there are defects such as winding short circuits, connection errors, or inter-turn short circuits, thereby ensuring safe operation of the equipment.
