What is the difference between anodized and chemical oxidation of aluminum profiles?
1. The function of anodizing
Protective: Enhance the wear, corrosion, and climate resistance of the parts.
(2) Decorative: Made into a colorless glossy film, perceived as a colored film.
(3) Insulation: As the dielectric film of capacitors, the insulation film of aluminum wire coils can withstand 25V voltage per micron thickness.
(4) Enhance adhesion with organic coatings: used as the primer layer.
(5) Enhance adhesion with inorganic coatings: Used as the base for electroplating and enameling.
(6) Other features in development: Deposition of magnetic alloys in porous membranes for memory elements, solar absorber panels, super-hard films, dry lubricant films, catalyst films, etc.
2. The role of chemical oxidation
Enhance the corrosion resistance of the aluminum alloy.
(2) Can serve as a stable contact electrode.
(3) Conversion film is relatively thin (about 0.5~4um), produced by anodizing manufacturers. It is soft, conductive, porous, and has good adsorption properties, often used as the base layer for paint or other coatings.
(4) Retain the material's mechanical properties.
(5) Simple equipment, easy operation, and affordable pricing.
(6) Does not affect part dimensions.

Anodizing technology after aluminum parts processing
1. Fixture Design and Fabrication
Features of Clamps: The clamps used for anodizing aluminum parts after machining are fundamentally different from those used for electroplating. It is not suitable to use electroplating hooks as anodizing clamps, as both the clamp and the workpiece surface will quickly form an oxide film during anodization. Any slight loosening of the clamp and workpiece can change the contact point position, hindering current flow. To ensure proper anodization, it is essential to use elastic clamps to securely hold the workpiece. Only then can the anodization process proceed normally.

Dongtai Qicheng Precision Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in anodizing treatments for aluminum products, including standard anodizing, hard anodizing, and die-casting anodizing. Please feel free to call for inquiries!
Common Hard Anodizing Processes and Techniques
After anodizing aluminum and hard anodizing of aluminum alloys, the resulting anodized film has the following characteristics:
1. Color: Brown, Dark Brown, Grey, Standard Anodized, Black. The thicker the anodized layer, the lower the electrolysis temperature, and the deeper the color.
2. Thickness: The anodized film thickness can reach approximately 250μm.
3. Hardness: The anodized film thickness is extremely high, with anodized die castings reaching up to 400-600HV on aluminum alloys and up to 1500HV on pure aluminum. Not only is the hardness high, but it also exhibits excellent wear resistance.
