Heavy metal scavenger is a chemical agent that strongly chelates with heavy metal ions. It is capable of reacting with various heavy metal ions such as Cu2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, and Cr3+ in wastewater under normal temperature and a wide range of pH values, forming a precipitate that is insoluble, low in moisture content, and easy to filter out in a short period of time. This chemical used to remove heavy metal ions from wastewater is known as a heavy metal scavenger.
Physical Properties of Heavy Metal Traps
Precipitate metals over a wide pH range.
2. Achieve wastewater recycling in factory production.
3. Suitable for conventional treatment processes or as a polishing agent for wastewater treatment.
4. Effective for various metals, including cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, silver, and zinc.
Heavy Metal Capture Agent's Function
Heavy metal scavenger is a liquid metal precipitant. It effectively precipitates metal ions, reducing the concentration of metals in wastewater. This product is commonly used as a polishing step after traditional metal precipitation processes (such as hydroxide precipitation). Compared to traditional techniques for precipitating high concentrations of metal ions, it is considered one of the alternative methods.
Excellent heavy metal scavenger, due to its strong chelating properties, the reaction can be carried out not only at room temperature and over a wide pH range but also unaffected by the concentration of heavy metal ions. Even in wastewater containing complex components, it can precipitate various heavy metal ions in a single step, allowing the wastewater to meet discharge standards.
Heavy Metal Capture Agent Applications
1. Electroplating factory wastewater treatment for heavy metal removal
2. Electronic circuit board factory wastewater treatment for heavy metal removal
3. Treatment of heavy metals in wastewater from mine tailings.
4. Metallurgical wastewater treatment for heavy metal removal
5. Heavy metal removal for wastewater treatment in the chemical and leather industries.
Heavy Metal Trap Agent Usage and Requirements
Heavy metal scavengers can be added to the conventional treatment process. They are easy to mix and dilute with water. Thus, they can be diluted with water to any required ratio to meet the requirements of the dosing pump. High-quality, pH-neutral water should be used for dilution. This product is suitable for use in highly turbulent areas, such as the pump intake.
In fact, when adding heavy metal trapping agents to the solution, the treated water should be stirred to ensure the metal precipitates react fully before settling.
Storage containers can be made of polypropylene, stainless steel (304 or 316), or high-density cross-linked polyethylene (HDCLPE). Recommended materials for pipes and installation include rigid PVC, stainless steel, HDCLPE, polypropylene, Viton, nitrile rubber N, and polyethylene. Avoid using carbon steel, brass, zinc, and other metal materials for pipes and storage containers.
Product Advantages
1. Simple process, no need for new equipment; simply add the trapping agent to remove heavy metals.
2. The capturing agent can strongly complex with heavy metal ions, forming a good flocculent.
3. Excellent flocculation effect with less sludge and easy dewatering.
