Weishan Lake Lotus Seed - Maturation: Ripe in June and August
Pure lotus root plants grow to 140-150 cm in height, with leaf surface diameters of 65-75 cm, white flowers. The main lotus tuber is 25 cm deep in the mud, relatively shallow, typically consisting of 4-6 segments, 100 cm long, with an oval cross-section. The nodes are 4-8 cm thick, and each plant weighs 5.8 kg. Seedling stage: From the sprouting of the rootstock of the seed lotus to the emergence of a single upright leaf. Lotus roots begin to sprout when the average temperature rises to 15°C, and all the leaves grown during this period are floating leaves. In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, lotus roots begin to sprout and grow floating leaves in early April, and upright leaves emerge around mid-May. In the south and southwest regions of Yunnan, the sprouting and growth begin in early March, while in Henan and Shandong in the north of China, the sprouting and growth start in late April or early May.
