Beer Box Knowledge
Beer boxes are paper boxes made by pressing and shaping cardboard through a die-cutting machine, and their main material is corrugated cardboard.
Bottle boxes come in various types, such as bottom-locked boxes, double-insert boxes, and airplane boxes, featuring lightweight, easy transportation and storage, and cost-effectiveness. They are applied to different product packaging based on their unique characteristics.
Manufacturing Process
1. Paper selection: Standard beer box wrapping paper is typically made from double copper or matte copper paper, with a weight of 128g, 105g, or 157g. Rarely do beer boxes have wrapping paper over 200g, as thicker paper can cause bubbles during lamination and may appear dull in appearance. Lamination paper is chosen based on customer requirements, commonly known as gray board or gray card paper.
2. Plate-making: Now, beer boxes emphasize beautiful appearance, so the colors of the plates are diverse. Usually, a style of beer box not only has 4 basic colors but also several spot colors, such as gold and silver, which are all spot colors.
3. Die-cutting is a crucial step in the printing process. Accuracy in die-cutting is essential, as precise die molds are required. Inaccurate die-cutting, misalignment, or failure to cut through can all affect subsequent processing.
4. Printing: Beer boxes are printed using only printed wrapping paper; the lamination is not printed and is at most dyed. Since beer boxes are outer packaging boxes, their printing requires high craftsmanship and is very sensitive to color discrepancies, ink spots, and flawed printing that can affect aesthetics.
5. Surface Treatment: The packaging paper for beer boxes usually requires surface treatment, which commonly includes glossy lamination, matte lamination, UV coating, glossy varnish, and matte varnish.
6. Mounting: Generally, printed materials are mounted after being die-cut, but beer boxes are done the opposite - first die-cut, then mounted. This is because we want to avoid damaging the packaging paper and because beer boxes emphasize overall aesthetics. The mounting paper for beer boxes must be handcrafted to achieve a certain level of beauty.
7. Punch holes where necessary; for items not requiring holes, wipe off the surface adhesive, and then they are ready for packaging and shipment.
