Corrugated boxes and single-layer cardboard boxes are widely used packaging materials, available in various sizes and models according to different materials.
Cardboard boxes commonly used include three-layer, five-layer, with seven-layer being less frequent. The layers are divided into inner paper, fluted paper, core paper, and face paper. The inner and face papers come in kraft paper and kraft paper, the core paper is made of fluted paper, and the colors and textures of different types of paper vary. Additionally, the paper produced by different manufacturers also varies in color and texture.
Corrugated cardboard is made by bonding liner paper, facing paper, fluting paper, and corrugated paper into a wavy structure. Depending on the requirements of product packaging, corrugated cardboard can be processed into single-faced, three-layer, five-layer, seven-layer, eleven-layer, and other types of corrugated cardboard.
Corrugated cardboard made from different wave shapes exhibits varying functionalities. Even with the same quality of face and back papers, the performance of the corrugated board can differ due to the variation in wave shapes. The internationally recognized corrugated wave shapes are divided into four types: A-wave, C-wave, B-wave, and E-wave. Their technical specifications and requirements are listed in Table 1. A-wave corrugated board offers good cushioning and elasticity, with C-wave being slightly less than A-wave. However, it has better rigidity and shock resistance than A-wave; B-wave has a higher density, resulting in a flat surface and high bearing capacity, suitable for printing; E-wave, due to its thinness and density, demonstrates greater stiffness and strength.
