20CrMo has high hardenability, no temper brittleness, good weldability, little tendency to form cold cracks, and good machinability and cold deformation plasticity. It is generally used in tempered or carburized and quenched condition, for manufacturing high-pressure pipes and various fasteners, as well as more carbonized parts such as gears and shafts, which operate in non-corrosive media and at temperatures below 250°C, containing nitrogen and hydrogen.
